WRITING DOWN INFORMATION FOR THAT ONE SHORT FILM I WANT TO MAKE
PART ONE - the two girls stand together in a pool, looking at each other but avoiding eye contact, awkwardly touching each others’ arms very lightly. A voice speaks in the background talking about what is happening as if recalling a memory. “Do you remember that day at the waterpark, when you realised you were in love with your best friend? Somehow in the chlorine water and hazy warmth made her seem softer and more beautiful than ever before. Somewhere, a star exploded. It might have been in you.” Color scheme: blue, orange, soft pink, yellow. No action.
PART TWO - one of the girls from the first scene is hiding under a table outside, at some sort of garden party. She is trying to pull off a piece of lace that has been sewn into her wrist. An older woman comes and pulls her out from under the table to her objections, and begins sewing lace into the back of her neck while the girl shouts, but her shouts are faded and drowned out by soft music at the party- all of the people around seem oblivious to what is happening. Color scheme: white, pink, yellow, green. No narration.
PART THREE: a. the girl from the previous two scenes is laying in bed in the early morning. Suddenly the voice from the first scene speaks again, this time clearly directly two her in the moment, telling her to hide under her blankets until the man on the bicycle passes far by her house. “You can’t let him see you, hide, hide! Don’t uncover your head until he’s long gone, the trench can’t cover you now.” b. time passes after a few moments of obvious fear, and the light changes, it is now later morning and the girl has fallen back asleep.(camera view under blanket with her.) She wakes up again and uncovers her head to find sunlight coming through the window, and her love / best friend from the first scene lying next to her. Color scheme a: black, darkish orange, brown. Color scheme b: brighter orange, yellow. No narration for b
