Aderyn returns with scorching new 'FEEL NOTHING!' single

Aderyn is back - and she’s taking no prisoners. With her latest single 'FEEL NOTHING!', the rising Welsh indie star delivers a blistering, tongue-in-cheek takedown of modern love and emotional detachment. Channelling lo-fi punk pioneers like Violent Femmes and Bikini Kill, the track’s raw, scrappy production by Gethin Pearson (Orla Gartland, Charli XCX) is both defiant and addictive.

Over grunge-soaked synths and  a soaring guitar solo, Aderyn lists the rules of winning the game of modern situationships: namely, the ability to feel nothing. “I was inspired by the notion of situationships as a game of emotional chicken – like, how close can we get without catching feelings?” says Aderyn. “The song just poured out from there.”  

With its sweet, almost saccharine vocal delivery set against chaotic punk energy, 'FEEL NOTHING!' walks a thrilling tightrope between ‘60s girl group glamour and riot grrrl grit.  The result? A bold, bombastic, and wholly original indie pop anthem that proves Aderyn is not just playing the pop game - she’s rewriting the rules.

A druid from a small village nestled in the Fells along the borderlands with Hydris, Aderyn lost her parents early. All that she has to remember them by is her mixed ancestry - half Kwaychan elf, and half Fellish. She's not sure who was which, but she doesn't let it get her down.

After all, she has still family that love her. Like her girlfriend Lona and Aderyn's surrogate grandpa - a great tree spirit named Hynafwr Onnen, the same who rescued her as a baby.

It seems she has everything she would want in her quiet village.

Aderyn returns with new single ‘Hangxiety’

Welsh indie artist Aderyn has returned with her new single entitled ‘Hangxiety’. The track channels 90's riot grrrl influences and in under three minutes, takes the listener on a raucous journey through a wild night out. Driving, fuzzy bass underpins the song, and the anti-melodic chorus drums on the ear like swirling thoughts the morning after.

The track is somewhat introspective as Aderyn questions decisions, actions and the meaning of life for a young person. The song is not classically melodic. The sound is in your face and can feel uncomfortable at times, channeling that ‘morning after’ feeling. Anderyn’s vocals are layered with effects which, combined with the punk-like sound, add to the sonic intensity of the track.

Aderyn says: “I wrote this song after a big night out in Bristol. I literally quit drinking after writing this song, I was so hungover. It was very much a ‘never again’ moment’.”

‘Hangxiety’ careens through Aderyn’s vortex of thoughts. The lyrics are playful as Aderyn asks the question felt by many 20 somethings - “am I wasting my life, or having the time of my life?” as the existential dread builds, the music cuts between heavy groove based riffs and climaxes with a more frenetic punk outro.

Blending sardonic, confessional lyrics with hooky guitars, Aderyn mixes together her indie and pop influences. Inspired by the ups and downs of love, dating, and being skint, Aderyn began to write her own music that sounds like it belongs on a classic 90s movie soundtrack. Now at her shows she dances around the stage with drag queens and blends camp art-pop and indie to create something truly infectious.

Second EP Foreverever is due for release in late 2024, with ‘Hangxiety’ set to feature.

“A foolish question, maybe, but… Do dragons dance?”

They smiled warmly, and the music felt far away. “Of course.”

“Do you then,” his mouth was working without him, and he was shocked to discover that he might be grateful of that fact. “Want to. Dance. With me?”
