Velvet held a smile upon her lips, though no warmth was in her illuminated eyes. Her grin could be described more accurately as sharp. Despite that, her tone was pleasantly sweet. Light-hearted. Almost as if it wasn't even coming from her at all.

"Noooooo, this isn't about the stupid fucking meat," Velvet continued, her emphasis on the words grew louder and deeper before it rolled back into her saccharine delivery.

"This is about your new hire -- The pink spider. I know it isn't Angel Dust, he doesn't pad his hips that heavy." Grin widened at her observational remark. A silly joke! That still rocked on heavy waters of the growing storm that was Velvet's mind.

Not a point of PRIDE so much as OBSERVATION. Hellsa does consider herself more of a REVOLUTIONARY than Velvet— if only because she finds all that Velvet does so PEDESTRIAN— but the word has NOTHING to do with either of them. She knows herself as more ICONOGRAPHY than woman and, even if she carried the DESIRE to do more, there's only SO MUCH something two-dimensional can do.

Not that Velvet carries any more DEPTH. Overlords, creatures that only know POWER the way an animal does— BLOOD and VIOLENCE. Something so simple can only amount to names and legacies more EASILY FORGOTTEN than the nonsensical dreams everyone but Hellsa gets to have every night. JUST A SEA OF BIG FISH GETTING SWALLOWED UP BY BIGGER FISH.

Might as well be UTTERLY ALIEN to each other, in the end.

Most of the things Velvet says isn't anything she actually believes -- Her choice of words used to garner a reaction or response that may amuse her. It worked well on most.

Hellsa, though? Woman was a fucking brick wall. Or a wet blanket, she'd say, if she wanted to sound like some old fucking geezer. While normally, such reactions (or lack thereof) would just be boring, sometimes irritating. However! Unfortunately for Hellsa, Velvet finds her lack of humoring fun.

Maybe it's a challenge. Maybe it's because she actually likes Hellsa. Maybe because Hellsa isn't some fucking miserable chud.

How can you get bored with the fucking guava Regina George from the pits of terror itself?

Completely ignoring her first comment -- not that it lacked any truth -- and answered her second observation. "It's different when I do it," she'd respond matter-of-factly. "When I prey on miserable women to keep them wanting to keep themselves into a comatose stupor, it's me being an ambitious woman. I got the rejected Barbie Career that died on the cutting room floor."
