We opened the exhibition up to a class from Cieplice art school. We are not sure how much is lost is translation but we enjoy the challenge!

Co to Jest? Exhibition held in the Studio to conclude this years summer studio, featuring works by Michael Smith, Jasmine Poole, Sophie Lee, Susi Law, Rachel Monosov,  Marie-Andrée Pellerin, Abigail Liparoto.

So, sadly and (we hope) reluctantly the first group left us on Tuesday morning.  This first round has been a fantastic start, the studio turned into an absolute hive of activity from the moment they all arrived and the town was abuzz with the influx of new faces.  The residents really did a great job and pushed their work, as well as our own, along in brilliant directions. The wonderful freedom of expression and desire to experiment really shone through, just like we had hoped for in this little corner of the world. When we set out on the journey of this residency our main aim was to offer young, exciting artists the opportunity to escape the hectic world of everyday life and spend some time in a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere, where focus and concentration on a body of work could happen. But we didn't just want to give the artists an escape, we also want to give them the support and conversation that is needed to create considered, conceptually driven and strong work.  We really feel that we have, and will continue to do so for the next coming weeks.
