need some inspiration and carefree-ness
I feel so choked up and like I can’t breathe when I walk the streets of Seoul with another short-haired genderqueer person. Everyone stares, and something about it is a new kind of suffocating.

now i wonder if i can ever be patient enough for others’ growth processes
2018
To be in a relationship where I feel intensely, without losing myself. Somewhere I can feel comfortable being my whole self — all the shameful parts of me and all. Somewhere I don’t have to hide parts of myself. Somewhere I can be free.
To become a medium for emotions but never be controlled by them. A person who feels and releases emotions in the same breath, who does not wait years and years to dig up old feelings out of their grave, who obliterates the emotional baggage that was handed down to them from their mothers and the mothers before them. To become free from the shackles of guilt, shame, and pain that has my name engraved on it, and to release ourselves from the cycle of trauma.
To be a person that does not break people down into small bite-size pieces. A person who allows others to come as their whole selves without feeling fear or shame because I no longer have those same fears, shame, or judgements within myself.
To live among children and their energy, teenagers and their sudden breaks from social norms, young adults and their focus/drive, aging adults with their slow but steady changes, and elders who are able to embrace more than I can ever hold. To not lose sight of where I am in it all, that I am living but a single moment in the expansive timeline of human life.

Non-binary does not mean the same thing to a single one of us. We’re all super nervous to talk about it in public, though! December 28 2017
Being non-binary or genderqueer is inherently kind of confusing because it depends on not identifying with a gender. Therefore, its definitions are wide and varying and complex. Here’s how just a few of us on staff think about what it means to call ourselves non-binary. Guess what? Our definitions are wildly different!
sometimes i feel so distant and removed from the english language that i forget how to articulate my gender in that language
