Until Grace slips out a sentence along the lines of "could you give me a little grace here" and Rocky immediately points out he used a word wrong so Grace has to explain that yeah, grace means elegance but it can also mean mercy sometimes too.

it starts with clark hearing bruce masturbating but feeling guilty about listening in when they were just pseudo-colleagues. but bruce gets bolder over time, putting a show for clark, taunting him. telling him it's fine if he listens. it's fine if he want to join.

inevitably, they start fucking. but, because it's bruce, the fucking taunting never stops. clark still feels shameful about indulging in his own fucking desires with bruce, invading his privacy like that. he never quite knows when bruce wants him to listen in, because his ear always picks it up. does he listen until he hears bruce telling him to do so? what if never gives clark permission, he's just listening bruce fuck himself when he can't do anything about it? bruce's enjoying being able to play with clark's self-control like that.

it isn't until clark starts joining in on some of the sessions that he realizes how much control, bruce's had on him. he will hear bruce do anything mildly sexual and he'll be ready at his mercy. always at his beck and call. he could be at work and he'll subconsciously consider leaving his desk to get to bruce's office in we. the realization gets him horny out of his mind. he's already given so much of himself to bruce, but now he's given control over himself. he wants more.

clark had never even heard the term free-use. he just wants bruce to have him, they way he so easily seems to do. whenever. he trust bruce to not hurt him, obviously not physically, or compromise him or hero work. the implicit trust he has on bruce grounds him.

Bruce is a Very Serious dog. He has his space, his rules, his territory. He guards it with his life. He likes his people and only his people, but given time he will adopt a new person and be just as fiercely loyal. His protective instincts are legendary, and his stubborness even more so.

Then there’s Clark. He just shows up one day and decides he belongs there. Bruce growls and snaps but Clark lounges out of reach, forcing himself into Bruce’s space without getting too close. Clark doesn’t follow the rules Bruce has always lived by, he just comes and goes as he pleases, and trying to keep him out will just leave him yowling at the door until it opens — or just slipping through an open window. Occasionally he’ll proudly bring a criminal to Bruce’s door as a weird sign of affection.
