Hiatus

I've been taking a break from writing but I've also been pretty busy with work. I'm coming back though, and moving blogs again.

A lot of the delay is me not being able to decide what I wanted to do blog wise

The multi muse thing isn't working for me so I'm going back to just using Kare for now, with the idea of maybe more separate rp blogs in the future.

I'll prob keep this blog around as a place for side muses though.

“Kare-san, no!”

If Cure Swan just stood there, she knew Kare was likely to trigger what would likely be a trap. No self-respecting ancient society would just leave their treasures out in the open without putting at least one dangerous trap in place!

Swan knew she had to act.

The bow on her back began glowing as it expanded into a pair of wings that allowed her to fly. Swan shot herself towards Kare. Once she was close enough, she wrapped her arms around his waist and carried him far away from the bear. 

The wind generated by Swan’s speed made the bear wobble slightly, but not enough to trigger any deadly trap.

Once they were far enough from the bear, Swan set Kare down.

“I get that you wanted something shiny like that, but you need to be more careful!” It probably looked strange for someone who was clearly younger than Kare to scold him like this, but Swan was more concerned with them both making it back home in one piece.

It’s an obvious trap, even he knows that-- But he’s still willing to fall for it for the sake of treasure. That’s sadly the type of person he is after struggling for money for most of his life.

Almost there--

And just before he could grasp it, Kare was forced back. Pulled away from the statue, he was instead flying through the air at a swift speed, the golden shine fading from Kare’s view with every moment passing.

Until he could no longer see it.

Carried because he wasn’t behaving. He should be embarrassed, but he’s annoyed. Once released, he sat on the floor, pouting with a frown.

“Hmph.”

“You can fly, it would have been fine. You’re worrying too much.”

A pause, the ex-assassin looking around the room.

Mitsuki agreed upon Kare’s wise words. It was true that they wouldn’t just be able to count on her and she believed, that once the threat was dealt with, perhaps they would be able to build something. From that, an idea came to the girls mind, something she would ask of Kare later on, once their goal was closer.

She didn’t expect him to say yes or to agree, after all he was a demon and he would require more souls to feast upon, besides perhaps the place where she had found him was his home? She couldn’t just ask him to leave it for her wish, even after she would have passed on, yet, she wouldn’t know the out come unless asked.

She snapped back from her thoughts as she heard the two yelling, shaking her head. “Lizz!” she snapped at the other, taking her hands into her own. “Calm down. Its just like how Kare said. We both agreed onto it and it is a fair trade. He is giving me a lot after all.” After all, she was also smiling confidently, trying to reassure the other, that everything was well.

“…” The android could only stare at the other, before turning to Kare, her hands gripped into tight fists as she huffed. “Fine, but know, i still wont ever forgive you for taking her away. Even if she herself agreed to it, even if its something she came up.. You’re a reason for it happening!”

It made sense to him-- If the kingdom would fall apart without one person, than those flaws needed to be fixed or collapse was inevitable. Personally he didn’t care much for the kingdom, only about helping her with her goals, as their contract stated.

She had a future plan in mind, one Kare was unaware of-- Neither will he know, or grant her the answer until she tells him. But Kare is unable to change his nature, it’s not his choice to take souls.

He would lose his sanity if he didn’t, and then take them by force.

‘Emotions are so annoying,’ Kare internally complained. 

Sometimes he wondered if he would have been better off letting the corruption fully take hold. It hasn’t been easy since he lost his humanity.

The reassurance at least stopped the pair from fighting any further.

“Very well, then don’t.”

Golden hues looked to the distance. Past Lizz, as if her threat wasn’t a huge concern compared to the worry riddling his own thoughts.

I’m not surprised to hear that. Over the course of the last hundreds of years, people have stopped believing in us. They deny our existence and stopped praying. Most of them did, at least. So of course angels, demons and other supernatural beings started to go into hiding. Showing ourselves to people who do not believe could cause us lots of troubles.

The mentioning of being in love with someone mortal made Azazel remember one of the many fallen he had met. Another watcher who had decided to stay on Earth back then, because he had fallen in love with a mortal woman. Azazel himself had never been in love with a human. Sure, he liked humanity, liked watching them. They were interesting.

But loving them? No, not him. Not him, who had his heart broken by an angel, so many, many years ago. Him, who had never again fallen in love after having his wings tainted black.

Just be careful not to get yourself in danger, okay? No gemstone is worth to risk your life for.

Azazel meant it. Of course there were powerful magic bound in stones, powerful curses or blessings. But Azazel knew of none that would be important enough for the boy to risk his life. And to Azazel, a companion and soldier was worth a lot more than some curse or blessing.

“I guess I’m more part of the supernatural world now, so I’m getting used to it.”

They needed to be skilled at blending in with humans, for their own survival. Actions would likely be taken against them should they become widely known, and it’s a matter a lot of them want to avoid.

Kare knows he does, now split between the two sides. He can understand the desire to not cause trouble.

“I’ve noticed, I do need to hide my demon blood as well. If I’m lucky they wouldn’t believe it, if I’m not, they’ll chase me out of town.”

From what the other said, Kare had assumed Azazel may have been with mortals before, it seemed that guess was incorrect-- For Azazel at least. Kare often wonders if some supernatural beings are unable to feel love, or are perhaps forbidden from it.

“R-Right, sure--”

He says that, but Kare will easily put himself in harms way for something valuable. A habit, a problem. Either way he has little, if any, control over himself when it comes to the glimmer of gold and gems.

The young bird beast became silent,  He knew that people have attacked him because he seemed terrifying, more so in his other form. Would running help him at all…?

Granted, sure, he knew the ins and outs of the forest, since it was his territory, It…Made sense to him, he supposed, to try and run more often.

“Well. There’s a rather short answer for that…” The bird beast muttered rather quietly. “Short and simple answer, both of my parents are human mages, and I got cursed when I was a child.” He hoped that would be good enough for the stranger.

Mainly because that was as much as the young mage was willing to share.

Silence, for a long time. The half angel simply inspected Jay. Looking for signs of a trick, deceit, anything that could hint to a lie. But as far as Vasha could tell, he’s telling the truth.

If not, Vasha wouldn’t hold back.

“So you used to be human?”

He chuckled to himself.

“Interesting, that means you’re someone I should protect too. I do take those vows.”

Now it was difficult, Vasha could only hope he wouldn’t have to choose if any hunters came back.
