There's not much I can say about Fat Horse, other than this fandragon being the only one of mine I spent significant time breeding for the correct colors.
As for the horse itself, this character appeared so briefly that it doesn't even have a name. I don't have so much to say about it as I do the cartoon it's from.
What's Opera, Doc? is a Looney Toons cartoon that premiered in 1957. Featuring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd feuding while singing in operatic style, this cartoon took significantly more time and work than other cartoons being produced by Warner Brothers at the time. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest cartoons of all time.
If you have seven minutes to spare, highly recommend giving it a watch, especially if you've never seen it before.

Look at all these upstanding merchants, surely you would come to their floating market to spend your hard earned treasure or barter with wares of equal or greater value- right?
i posted about this in an anniversary speculation thread, but i was thinking it would be cool if they'd add farming to fr.
you get 4 plots, one for each food type.
you can pick certain foods to cultivate and every day you get a little bit, like low food point stuff you can get every day, and higher food point stuff you can get once every few days. it would be like nesting, where you have to check in every day to fill the meter.
and there could be exclusive livestock (including bugs and fish)/crops you buy to cultivate more that have a really high food point amount.
maybe you can even get them as familiars, or at least special versions of them.
i think that would be really neat! there's a ton of apparel that suggest that farming/gardening exists anyways, maybe dragons learned it from some beastclans and we could get another beastclan npc :}
also with this, you can get more items you might need for swipp, like you could grow pink mums and raise some magpies in your farm.

A little bit disappointed that the "Flower Umbrellas" are named after flowers that they don't even look like. The flowers on these looks like Lily of the Valley flowers.
Foxgloves, Butterfly bush, English Lavender, nightshade and bluebells do not look like that. So why name them like that??
I grow these flowers in my garden, so I know first hand what they look like. I love the umbrellas don't get me wrong, but maybe their names need adjusting to be more accurate.
Maybe we can even get umbrellas made of different types of flowers in future. I would love that.
whats your HC for how food economics work in the ashfall wastes? ive only really got my own for fhe rebuke, the mainland is much more nebulous in my mind and i want to expant my headcanons in a new way
YAYYYY ASHFALL WASTE WORLDBUILDING TIME okay okay let me think-
So for one, I think that the name is kind of misleading. It's actually not a wasteland by nature - the volcanic soil is super fertile, so there are a ton of native plants, and there are plenty of animals that have adapted to thrive in a fiery environment. Salamanders, fiendcats, black witch butterflies, magma runners, et cetera. There are even a few species of lava-dwelling fish, which don't have many natural predators and make up 99% of inland Coatl diets. I like to imagine that the Flamecaller designed them to fill that really specific niche so they wouldn't have as much competition. Like koalas. But I digress.
The southern half of the Ashfall Waste (Molten Scar, Flintlock Fumaroles, Emberglow Hearth) is less industrialized than the northern half and still has a boatload of natural resources. Most of the dragons there live in smaller, independent clans near prey-rich bodies of lava, and they have no trouble getting the food they need from their surroundings. Dragons in general tend to be more self-sufficient than a human would be if you dropped one into the wilderness, since they're superpowered reptiles that can eat raw meat and grass and stuff.
(That's one of my favorite parts of dragon stories. Like it will always be so amusing to me that arc 2 of WoF had this very prestigious school with classrooms and guidance counselors and library cards and then the cafeteria was just a giant open-air cave where they let the kids fly around chasing live cows and mauling them with their teeth because they're dragons.)
Putting the rest under the cut so it doesn't get annoying to scroll past:
The NORTHERN Ashfall Waste is where things get interesting. That's the more urban half of the region. Instead of a low-density population spread over a wide area, the vast majority of dragons are clustered into a few massive settlements like Cinderslag and the Great Furnace. Most of the land between these places is completely dead and barren - not by nature, but because the forgemasters and other power-hungry dragons have stripped them to the bone. After all, if you're the only one who has access to food, it's much easier to get people to live in your cities and do what you say.
Most food in the northern Waste is mass-produced in large industrial farms along the Blacksand Annex and shipped out east via train to be sold. For obvious reasons, the food can't be consistently refrigerated, so meat and fruit is usually canned/dried/smothered in salt beforehand to keep it from spoiling. Anything fresher than that is considered a rare delicacy. That doesn't mean it's bad, though; there's usually a nice selection to choose from in the stores, with a lot of more processed treats like cheeses and candies that are hard to come by in other regions. You've gotta give those workers some motivation to keep earning money, right?
Historically, the Water flight was considered a vital trade partner, supplying the Fire dragons with fresh seafood in exchange for their usual output of metal tools and weaponry. But after everything that happened with Bounty of the Elements and the civil war breaking out, the forgemasters cut them off so that the flight would be forced to rely on them and their privately-owned food companies as their sole source of sustenance. There's a HUGE black market for fresh fish in Cinderslag right now. Lots of hungry Coatl there.

Clobber Build is kinda funny to think about. Two dragons are mauling a big frog or something with everything they can while their friend is just sitting there, eyes closed, finding peace of mind before unleashing a single big bonk then going right back to chillin.
