TAKE ME SKYWARD

            But, darling, don’t you know? Angels without wings still remember where home was.

A lack of activity has most likely been noted by followers of this blog. 

The typist has become extremely busy, and within the next week is returning to university, which will definitely take a toll on the activity here and on all three accounts belonging to this typist (i.e. @acebaek, @anhyuns and @heliaeth). As of now, all three blogs will be put on a temporary semi-hiatus (sporadic activity, where replies may be done every week or so), however may approach a full-hiatus (extremely scarce or no replies?) as the school year progresses. 

Apologies to anyone interacting with the muse(s) on either accounts, but we do hope to continue writing with you upon return and hope you feel the same, whenever that may be. 

“Ah, well, it depends on how you define ‘asking out,’” she smirked as she placed her elbows on the table. “Lighten up, buddy, I’m not here to kill you or anything… yet.” Deul-Lae teased as she slung her bag over her shoulders. “Just, do your best tomorrow, alright? It’s for your own good.” Then after a curt bow, she left the building. Her steps were much lighter compared to when she had first entered.

The rest of the night, unfortunately, wasn’t as exciting as the short brush she had with Jeongguk, being filled with organizing and connecting the scraps of information that gathered all day. The drink that she bought from the bar only worked for a few hours, leaving Deul-Lae to rely on other methods of help to get her through the night. 

Like with everything in life, the extra hours that the detective traded in with her sleep came with a hefty price, for Deul-Lae could barely keep her eyes open once the sun rose to tell everybody but her of a new day. Despite these conditions however, the detective’s mind—which was buzzing due to the new influx of information—managed to coax her body to hold out for just a little bit longer, until the evening, when her target was going to show up in one of the biggest casinos of the nations, for the showdown of the year with the bartender she had acquainted a few hours before.

He can’t lighten up. He’s not afraid of death, if she were really serious about the point of killing him——he’s more concerned about any affiliation of him to Seokjin and his father. That would be the end of him, and he couldn’t risk that. In a hopeless attempt to calm himself down as he spoke to the woman, his fingers brought themselves to his wrist and rubbed the inked design hidden beneath his watch. It’s okay, she doesn’t know anything.

In this moment, Jeongguk can’t differentiate danger and harmlessness and it’s not the best look on him. The brief exchange leaves him a lot more focused on his work in an attempt to get his mind off of his problems. Jeongguk isn’t used to this and he hates the feeling.

Morning rushed by him and he almost completely forgets about the woman he’d met the previous night during his work shift——kind of hopes it’s just a hoax, when he finally recalls the encounter. That night, when the chips fall from his hands as he clicked them against the table, Jeongguk’s eyes instinctively searched the vicinity.

He’s always had the greatest of luck, but meeting with someone he’d been acquainted for a good few years has him tense when he knows he’s being watched.

“Hang on a moment. Can you repeat that? You’re studying at SNU?” She’d completely forgotten about his calculus problem now, even though he went on to talk about it a bit more, but her brain was solely fixated on the fact that she could have possibly already seen him, without even truly knowing him. For all she cared, she could have bumped into him on campus before.

“Yeah, I go to SNU. I major in mathematics and sciences,” he confirmed, before frowning slightly as he studied the words appearing on his screen. It’s only when she mentions the name of the notoriously frightening professor of the mathematics department (who definitely did teach his course, and he wasn’t the most fond of said professor) that it all hits him and oh. Oh.
