caution, thieves at work

            squints.  ❛  Was I playing YOU online,  then?  ❜  daisuke being himself,  he only picked the game up because solid snake was back  .  .  .  he is rather out of his element.

             ❛  I just got my ass handed to me by a fucking POTTED PLANT!  I’m never playing video games again!  ❜

                          ‘   if that’s alright  .   ‘  he mustered out  ,  he didn’t want to go too much into detail  :  afraid of causing unnecessary worry  .  although his partners messy habits tended to grow on his nerves  ,  he knew trying to change that would be a task he might not have the patience for at the moment  .  it’d be better if he just let it slide for today  .  ‘   i think i just caught a small bug  —  so please be careful  ,  i’d hate for you to get sick  .   ‘ 

              AKIRA NODDED AND   bunched the papers together ,   crinkling them in the process ,   and scooped them into his arms .   he never really did take good care of such things .   “   there .   all clean ,   ”      he pushed aside his half - finished infiltration tools to dump the gathered notes upon his already messy desk .   he could clean it later ---   yusuke was more important .

              THE THIEF CRACKED A GRIN --   “   is that your excuse for being slow ?   i’ve been waiting for someone to catch on .   ”   perhaps he was a bit too cocky ,   but kurusu akira had proven himself time and time again to be one of the greatest thieves in the world  (( if not the greatest )) .   he could afford a bit of pride .   “   i have to give you some credit though .   after all ,   i had expected it would be L who would finally catch me in the act .   ”

                          his stomach felt ill from eating way too much yesterday   –   his poor body was unable to handle a real meal like that  .

     Unfortunately the art of writing and the skill of speaking escape him in this form. He doesn’t wish to frighten his new friend by shifting forms before his very eyes (and who knows what shady types may be hanging around), and as such is incapable of informing him of his true name.      Oh well, if he was given a name it certainly wouldn’t be the first time; even the name he had taken was one given to him by a friend, not by parents as human tradition would suggest.

                 HE WASN’T PARTICULARLY   good at naming things ,   particularly animals .   he tended to name them after famous artists ...   “   perhaps i’ll call you ...   da Vinci ?   ”   he decided -   it was suitable enough .   perhaps not the cutest name for the fox , but it was the best he could think of .

     The fox sat beside his newfound friend; there was no way he was going to take no as an answer. And, luckily, it seemed like the friend wasn’t going to take it, either.      He began to sway his tail again, more than happy with this new development. The fox stood and gave his friend the best fox-smile he could (which seemed more akin to panting than an actual smile), eager to follow along. Did hiding in the closet bother him in the slightest? Nope, not unless there wasn’t even enough room for him to lay comfortably.      Oh well, he could just make his way in and out as he pleased.

     No! He couldn’t just let such a wonderful friend leave so suddenly! This man had been such a good source of entertainment and pets, there was no way he could risk never seeing him again.      The fox ran beside the artist, looking up at him every now and again to assure that they were still together.

                  WHA ----   ???    the fox was following him ?   “   excuse me ,   fox friend ,   but i’m not sure i can bring you to class with me ,   ”      he said sadly ,   reaching down to scratch between his ears .   “   you’re too big to hide in my school bag .   ”

                   he was about to tell the fox to be on his way --   he didn’t want to make the poor creature wait for him ,   but it seemed like the fox wanted to stay and yusuke didn’t have the heart to send him away .   “   you can wait under the gazebo if you’d like .   perhaps i can sneak you into the dormitory ,   if you’d rather a roof over your head .   you might have to hide in the closet though .   ”

     The fox would have never guessed that this person had never pet an animal. He leaned into the ear pets and closed his eyes as he did so, and remained closed as the hand moved beneath his chin. And, were he not so happy with the attention he was receiving, the fox would argue in his own way that no, he would be much happier with a roof above his head.
