Any way, one of the stories is about a little girl who finds a strange root in her garden that looks just like a toe.

She takes it and cooks it up for dinner. In the story it explains she's starving and the root was very large. As she rested down her head to sleep she heard something moving out side her house, she curled up and forgot about it. Until she was woken up by the sound inside her home. The thing was moving closer and closer to the bedroom door, the whole time whispering, "Give me back my toe."
