âI surely hope,â he sounded so optimistic for a moment there and she was almost ashamed she couldnât say: yes, we will help - didnât want to lie about this one for there was no way to tell how everything would play out. Out of her pocket she produced a piece of paper that looked too dirty and creased to be a letter from some noble and she held it out showing the note to Cole.
âJust as everyone left to perform their tasks this came in. A message from this man, Murdock. I remember him, we closed the rift not far from his cabin and he helped treat our wounds afterâ He is desperate, saying that his daughter went missing a night ago. Search gave nothing but he doesnât want to give up hope. Perhaps we should travel there and look around, maybe we will be lucky to find something. No one is available but us right now though weâve cleaned the area before, so you and I should be relatively safe I supposeâ if you agree to come with me.â
Cole reached out to hold the note, and he-- not for the first time-- wishes he had the comprehension ability to read yet. He liked when Cassandra read to him once, and so much desires to read back to her in return. However, he has only been around a short while, and has not had much time to sit down and be idle with a book.Â
â I will come with. â
He gets up, reaching for one of his daggers. He fumbles a bit looking for the other one, and then puts his hat on.Â
â Now? âÂ
Heâs ready to leave, his routine to get ready not being too complicated, what with him not even knowing that he can change his clothes quite yet.Â
â Are you ready? â
