she, with all her might, is back on him like a specter. dodging all his attempts at overthrowing her, columbina grabs aether by the throat. her long nails dig into the small cut priorly made by her blade, making sure it hurt, her nailbeds stained golden. throwing him on a rock nearby, columbina slams his head on it repeatedly, fingers covered in a grotesque harmony of gold and crimson tangling themselves in his blond locks.
a sudden strike fills her mouth with divine ichor, which is then spat onto his face. โ yield, and i might let you leave here alive. โ the next strike is dodged successfully, the third seizes the hand, twisting fingers backwards vigorously. the dizzying burning sensation on her wings, and the ringing in her ears nauseates her.
a price must be paid for even daring to touch an angel's wings.

there were no farewell or promises of return when she slipped away beneath the cover of twilight, the tides quiet and observant of treachery committed against the devout sisterhood. columbina wandered the vast blue of the sea, the islands with flickering lights and devouring darkness until her fins gave out. leviathans and colorful corals. then it hit her, she was not only free โ but lonely.

โก CHARACTER META 001. โ DISSECTING THE CANON REGARDING DIVERGENCY & COMPLIANCY BASED ON IN-GAME VOICE-OVER AND CHARACTER STORIES OF NICOLE REEYN.
i have decided to make this post as there are so many bits and pieces of the angels' lore in nicole's character story and voice-overs. i thought it would be convenient for my mutuals to use this as a guide for in what ways columbina is detached from the canon ( other than being a whole another species than the moon goddess ) and in what ways she is compliant, mostly due to me predicting the canon correctly in 2023.
LONG POST AHEAD.
A. ANGELS' PUNISHMENT
โโโโ was one of the youngest angels within the seelie race, the birth of the young angel was celebrated for a whole month as they did with other newborn angels. during the time, she did not have the physical form she has obtained now. all young angels were born as a ball of light, and they were only granted a physical form similar to a human's once they were ready to start their duty as guides for the humankind. as for columbina, she did not gain her physical form in celestia, but in hyperborea. such little lights had their own conscience, memories, and feelings. they are by no means any similar to the human children. most of her peers' lights dimmed completely after the punishment was decreed, unlike those angels who either surrendered their powers and memories in order to keep guiding humans OR those who refused to surrender, and ended up being reduced to monsters without any elemental resonance ( ursa the drake ) โ either sealed away or slain.
there were seven archangels ( whereas there is only one in genshin, and it is istaroth ) within the celestial realm. โโโโ's mother was one of them along with koitar, goddess of the dawnstar and the first angel. all angels are female. โโโโ is a direct manifestation of the archangel's will, and she will remain unnamed as a symbol of columbina's fragmented recollection as well as her own angel name. despite being a survivor of the grand punishment, she still suffers from amnesia to some extent. and instead of searching for it, she has accepted columbina as her new name, as it was gracefully granted by her majesty.
columbina did NOT participate in the angels' rebellion against the heavenly principles. her mother, on the other hand, was an active leader alongside koitar & seutervoinen. she helped the lower ranked angels relocate to hyperborea and was present during the decision-making processes of the ten-year-rule of the city before the celestial nail was struck and she fled to dragonspine with โโโโ, but she failed to dispel the curse and was ultimately reduced to a seelie with no agency of her own.
B. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
i have already mentioned a few times in my replies and dash games ( and it is canon ) that columbina is known for her cryptic answers to questions raised to her. she will leave no questions unanswered and she will never lie. however, her sardonic tone & puzzling answers will often lead people to think that she is deceitful. and, to be fair, she will resort to allegories sometimes with an attempt at escaping further inquiries โ be it from someone close to her, or a random fatui soldier. " i don't know " does not exist in her vocabulary. she will reveal a puzzle before the very eyes of you, and expect you to find the secrets lying in between her words.
C. MOST ACTIVE HOURS & RESTING
columbina, despite owning one of the most flamboyant private chambers of the other harbingers ( maybe after pantalone & la signora ) & and personal office, rarely sleeps at night. she is more prone to wander around the proximity of the palace. she always takes off for missions in the dead of night, or write her reports after midnight accompanied by some tea and a couple sweet treats. however, she will indulge in a good night sleep every now and then merely to pamper herself and nothing else โ just like how she bathes or adorns the finest of the fabrics around her figure. other than that, she can often be found sleeping in various places within the palace during the day. dottore's laboratory, pierro's office, common areas only accessible by other harbingers and servants with the highest clearance, and anywhere she sees fit. sometimes she will sleep out of boredom. quick naps in the aforementioned spaces are often adequate rest for her, while the rest is just for relaxing purposes. she spends the most time in the zapolyarny palace, idling ( or journaling her memories, as she recalls them one by one at a glacial pace ), as her main duty will begin once the tsaritsa declares war against the heavenly principles.
