MATIAS GARCĂA.
âThereâs pluses and minuses either way,â Matias said, mock-serious as he considered the question. It wasnât really worth the level of thought he was devoting to it, but then again, it couldnât hurt. âYou cut, you say this is urgent, and Iâm upset, and possibly they give you a new one to keep things moving. You donât cut, you might win politeness points.â Scanning the line that had grown considerably since theyâd collected their cookies, Matias nodded in the direction of the staff walking behind the line. âItâll definitely be quicker to cut.â Not that he minded waiting around, but it didnât seem like a good use of anyoneâs time.
Heather's eyes went wide and eyebrows shot up. The situation wasn't dangerously urgent, but in truth, she was bummed about it enough to treat it as such. "Okay. I see your stance on the matter. I will remember this choice you made, as well as your ability to come up with pros and cons on the spot." Before her sentence could be finished, she moved over to the counter while avoiding eye contact with anyone waiting in the line. "Hey, sorry. I believe my cookie here wasn't taped in its little sleeve thing and it fell, soâ" "Sure, here." The girl spun around slowly, cradling a fresh replacement. "Huh. That was oddly easy."
