Are you currently suffering from The Character?
Anyone else caught up on witch hat manga…
was drawing expressions last night and it turned into a set
guess this ended up as sort of a character study

I think I’m finally understanding people who get weirdly happy & smug when celebrities they already didn’t like for petty reasons get accused of something heinous & I will clarify here that I think it’s okay for me to be a bit petty & “HA I told y’all he sucked LOL” here because I’m not like. celebrating someone actually committing a crime where someone got hurt or anything like that. I’m just simply if I’m being so real a bit smug that a man I’ve been saying is an un-entertaining & media illiterate douche for years is finally getting exposed for how fucking stupid he truly is now that he’s just mask off admitted to being a full idiot who can’t comprehend simple story beats (to be fair. I feel like that’s been obvious from the beginning personally but I digress) with some deeply concerning opinions about women & consent
Look, I didnt really know why I didnt like Alex Meyers before this. I just know I tried to watch a couple of his reviews once, and they got under my skin. I dont even remember what reviews they were. I didn't sit there and think much about it or put a name to why I didn't like him/his reviews. I had other reviewers I liked better, and he didn't add anything important or funny, and something was just a little off. I feel a little vindicated now.
Does Lucy Carlyle have body image issues?
Im reading the first book of Lockwood & co and I can’t help but notice some of the differences between how Lockwood is described and how George is described with a lot of emphasis on each one’s body type (Lockwood: tall and lanky, George: chubby). Now I know that this might just be Jonathan Strouds way of writing about plus sized characters but all descriptions are quite negative, but also Lucy describes herself as a bit heavier set than she would have liked? (Although maybe it’s the ‘male writer writing female character’ type of heavy set, just a totally normal body type)
I think it’s interesting when you consider a body image issue that isn’t really apart of the plot because it would put a different light on exactly why Lucy describes Lockwood and George so differently with different tones and why she focuses so much on them. Maybe it’s her projecting onto George?
Definitely not saying that this is the case, i think it’s just an interesting way to frame why her perspective of George is so much different (at least in the way she describes him physically, I totally understand him being kind of an annoying person. But then again is that just emphasised in her perspective?).
ops
Was surprised to find this while looking for a dog pic. This is a screenshot of an unfinished page taken before the file corrupted and bye. The final version will be different because only the lineart file remains. Lockwood and co book 2 is being coloured and will be available next winter (one year after the first!)
I had this thought while listening to the audio book and HAD to draw it.
“Why are you watching it again? You already know what happens.” Because The Character is in there, bro. THE CHARACTER

i think we should start openly mocking male creatives who can't figure out how to write women. like actually i think it's embarrassing that it took elliot page transitioning for christopher nolan to give him a good role. why did it take like ten years to get the first female lead in a marvel movie? why is it a Known Fact that stephen king can't write women? why is 50% of the population omitted from large ensemble works? i asked my friend to name a movie directed by a man with a majority female cast and he said ghostbusters 2016. ghostbusters. ghostbusters. g
