for code I think they have it write a million pieces of code and the ones that work get reinforced. so it's closer to a chess program that learns by playing itself. less plagiarism, maybe? And also maybe less energy to make text than entire images or videos (I don't really know, though)

I'm not sure if there's a feasible alternative for me to turn to for VN development but I'm going to try to work something out. I don't want to touch anything with AI usage and the fact that it's just now come out that AI has been used to work on the engine just...sucks. Really bad.

30 minute doodle of The Announcer for Mermay before I attempt to get some coding done for the night.

HELLO, I wish I could say circumstances have changed, but alas, I'm still working 6 days/60 hours a week until the end of this month. Aka, I still have zero free time.

That said, I updated all my pages to reflect my current work 'hiatus' (in quotations because I'm still ever so slowly chipping away at things). I also updated my dev intro page during downtime at work. I'm still amazed I have 11??? finished games already. Granted they're all short, but that's still so many and I never even realized I'd hit that number already.

And speaking of games, Burning Academia is now in the coding/editing stage. Granted, I had like, half the chapter coded in already, but with the rewrite of the Student Government route, some things need to be changed throughout the chapter. Regardless, WRITING IS DONE FOR CHAPTER 4 FOR REAL!!!!!! I have zero promises when I'll be able to get all the coding done on the grounds I am Never Home currently, but that's literally all that's left to do lol as well as some editing.

I love chapter 4 a lot overall tbh, but I will not lie, I'm so glad to be done with it alkdfja And once chapter 4 is done, I'll also be uploading Rhea's backstory as is tradition. It's been sitting in my draft for a million years at this point, and once that's posted, all the RO back stories will have been uploaded! :> I've been posting them on tumblr/on itch as posts, but since I have a page for all the bonus stories, I was wondering if I should put them on there as well, just so they're all in one place and easier to access? I'm debating on it, though, since they're not interactive in the slightest lol We'll see how I feel when we get there!

The goal is to finish up coding this month (again, no promises, I love my job but working in healthcare is a vortex consuming all your free time), and that way I can also finish up the last bits and bobs for the new Spring Boy demo because that's also been haunting me since...............................2023...............

We don't need to talk about it, but hey, at least all I have to do for that is finish drawing the backgrounds and like 3 CGs, toss them into ren'py and that'll be ready to go! I have all the art assets done as thumbnails, it's just being able to finally sit at my computer to draw them at this point. Again, I'll have more free time in June! And if I manage to actually get that done, I'll be able to submit the new demo to Otome Jam this year!

Lastly, I've been setting up the game jam page for Trans Otome Jam. It's set to begin all the way in November, so we got a lot of time until then! I have no idea how to set up a jam page or make it look good, but I'm working on it lol it'll also be around a month long, which I'm hoping is a good enough time frame for everyone! If enough people join, I might make it an annual thing, but for now, here's just another reminder that it exists at all. When it gets closer to November and the page is officially set up and published, I'll be doing my best to advertise it more!
