PREFERENCE IS LACED WITH RACISM. I think its problematic to create pictures of the type of people we want to be with. We unconsciously consume images of tall, thin, muscular, bearded white guys as gay men. Which then, creates a block when analyzing someones humanity rather than their aesthetic. I was once told by someone in the fetish community that you “never break the fantasy.” Our generation is filled with cruising apps that instill “no fems, no fats, white4white, masc4masc” as the norm. As a POC I’ve observed fellow POC doing just that, playing a fantasy just to appease white men; Softening their indigenous name, Ethnically identifying as “other” or exotifying themselves in fractions. THIS NEEDS TO STOP. OUR BODIES ARE VALID.
