━━  ♥ amelia  is  used  to  charming.  it  would  often  make  her  roll  her  eyes,  acid  dripping  from  carefully  chosen  words  and  practiced  smiles.  but  this  is  not  new  yorker  charming,  stinking  of  chanel  number  5  and  brunch  at  the  waldorf.  it  makes  her  want  to  smile,  lips  curling  involuntarily.  "  hmm  it  is  an  admirable  hypothesis,  surely.  "  she  does roll  her  eyes  then,  takes  another  drag  as  their  shoulders  brush,  not  looking  at  him  with  an  air  that  would  read  as  arrogance  were  it  not  for  the  amused  glint  in  her  eyes  and  the  small  upwards  curl  that  stays  on  her  lips.  "  i'm  afraid  i'm  no  good  at  not  breaking  hearts.  pretty  sure  more  than  one  person  has  written  songs  about  it,  even.  "

“ that's unacceptable , “ the actor's quick to shot up the moment she downs her drink , finger raising in order to call the bartender over , in a blink of an eye ordering her a whole bottle of wine . “ a beautiful woman like you should never have an empty glass , “ ace retorts , a hint of a grin in the corner of his lips as he pours her glass in a delicate manner , obviously knowing perfectly well what he's doing considering how he's resting the bottle against the rim of the glass to avoid splashes . “ depends on who you're with at these things , i'd say , “ he smiles a bit wider , glancing her way .

━━  ♥ “  well,  thank  you  very  much.  it  appears  that  the  way  to  woman’s  heart  truly  may  be  cabernet  sauvignon.  ”  she  smiles,  sharply,  toasting  with  her  glass  before  taking  a  sip. the tannin is abrasive aginst her lips, a welcomed sensation.  her  arm  rests  on  the  bar,  head  in  her  hand,  a  perfect  picture  of  interest.  she  might  as  well  be  twirling  her  hair.  no  shame  to  having  a  bit  of  fun.  “  you  are  right  in  that.  but  maybe  i  am  the  terrible  company.  i  may  have  wasted  all  of  my  partying  spirit  at  sixteen.  ” too many what ifs in a sentence, but wine can make her expeculative. it's better than being an outright sad drunk, at least.

as much as bash loved what he did, he sometimes tired of hollywood parties. no one was as genuine as he wanted them to be, everyone was playing a part even when they weren't on set. and that could sometimes get him discouraged about the whole industry. not enough to dampen his bright spirits or stop him from having a good time but after another empty conversation, he decided he needed a small break from it all and decided to go outside. "they probably are, i'm sorry to tell you. are you having fun?" he asked. "i'm guessing the answer is no since you're not inside enjoying the party. is everything okay?"

━━  ♥ amy  laughs  and  the  sound  is  —  surprisingly  even  to  herself  —  genuine.  “  no,  i  guess  i’m  not.  but  then,  you  are  also  here.  does  that  mean  you’re  not  having  fun  ?  ”  she raises her eyebrows.  bash  always  seemed  to  her  as  someone  who  could  be  happy  even  in  the  toughest  times  but  perhaps  that’s  diminutive.  she  has  to  seriously  stop  forgetting  other  people  are  complex  beings  (  or  at  least  that’s  what  her  shrink  says  ).   “  hey,  at  least  the  drinks  are  good.  ”

"i don't know about awful. the 'good girls go bad x crazy frog' remix was kind of hitting," said teddy. he shrugged as he sat next to the brunette. "these things just go on forever. i needed a break."

━━  ♥ she  laughed,  unable  to  contain  the  eye  roll.  “  it’s  an  industry  party.  in  my  experience  you  are  either  completely  high  or  completely  bored.  the  being  high  does  help  it  feel  shorter.  maybe.  ”  amy  doesn’t  remember  a  single  party  from  when  she  was  nineteen,  but  at  least  she  couldn’t  say  they  sucked.  everything  was  so  much  easier  ( and  so  much  worse )  back  then.  bittersweet  like  lemon  drops. or menthol cigarettes.

dulce had to take a minute to herself , seeing as she had nearly taken 200 or so pictures with people she barely knew and her phone was blowing up . the femme took a step outside on the patio of the event , walking over to take a seat on the patio furniture to scroll through her tags on instagram . she hadn't noticed anyone else was out there until she spoke up , causing the female to jump a bit . " probably . that's all they honestly have been playing all night . my ears are bleeding . "

━━  ♥  she  smiled  at  the  other’s  surprise,  feeling  like  she  was  fading  into  the  grey  blue  shadows  of  the  night.  she  wasn’t  quite  used  to  that,  mostly  a  shining  jewel  of  every  room,  demanding  attention  with  the  type  of  poise  one  expected  from  her  family  lineage.  it  was  a  needed  change  of  pace.  “ it’s  quite  annoying.  reminds  me  of  university  parties,  but  at  least  then  you  could  steal  the  spot  of  dj  at  any  time. ”

henrie was an introvert at heart, although the night was progressing rather swimmingly, fresh air was calling their name. slipping through the throngs of people to make it out. she took a breath and dabbed at the sweat at her brow. gaze swiftly moving to the voice a few feet from her. ❛ um, i don't remember. but i wouldn't doubt it. apparently everyone loves a remix. ❜

━━  ♥  two  lit  cigarettes  under  the  starless  la  sky,  the  only  celestial  bodies  one  can  find  within  the  city  lights  and  pollution.  amy  has  never  known  stars,  always  a  city  girl,  but  when  she  looks  up  it’s  easy  to  imagine  the  twinkling  lights  so  far  away.  for  now,  she  is  content  with  the  burning  stick  in  her  hands.  “ one  would  think  that  studios  with  this  much  money  would  be  able  to  scout  a  decent  dj…  if  such  a  mythical  creature  even  exists. ”  she  knew  one,  once,  but  that  seemed  too  long  ago,  another  life.  another  thing  she  screwed  up. she looks back up to the rising smoke, a grey nebula that dissipates too soon. nothing to do but take another, long drag. 

 it  was  her  manager  who  rsvped  her  attendance  to  the  party  in  the  first  place  ⸺  if  it  was  entirely  up  to  her  ,  she  wouldn’t  even  be  here  and  most  likely  at  one  of  the  clubs  instead  .  she’s  been  forcing  herself  to  hold  conversations  for  the  entire  evening  ,  pretending  she’s  enjoying  the  company  of  whoever  decided  to  talk  to  her  only  to  roll  her  eyes  as  soon  as  she  turned  back  and  it  quickly  made  her  need  to  get  some  fresh  air  ,  vape  already  in  her  hand  as  she  was  stepping  outside  .  “  i  don’t  know  .  i  kind  of  turned  myself  off  after  another  justin  timberlake  song  .  ”  she  admits  while  taking  a  puff  ,  head  turning  to  face  the  other  .  “  i  wasn’t  really  expecting  2009  hits  from  a  white  party  ,  but  i  guess  i  wasn’t  expecting  much  at  all  .  ”

━━  ♥  she  takes  a  long  drag,  icy  mint  flavour  in  her  lips  contrasting  with  the  bitter  nicotine,  willing  her  mind  to  lighten.  she  could  do  fake  smiles  and  charming  replies all  night  long,  but it didn't  mean  she  liked  it.  it  all  started  feeling  a  bit  to  much  like  a  fitzgerald  farce  after  the  buzz  of  liquor  set  in,  especially  with  nothing  else  to  blur  her  vision.  "  ah,  this  is  exactly  what  i  was  expecting  though.  cheap  nostalgia  music  for  the  cheap  nostalgia  tv  people.  "  she  smiles  sharply,  watching  the  smoke  rising  from  the  tip  of  the  burning  stick.  "  us  smokers  get  a  free  break  out  of  jail  card  once  per  night,  though.  thankfully.  "

as fun as it is being fawned over and told how uncanny it was to be at the white party this year when she'd likely be recreating gossip girls' very own interpretation of it within a few months, miyeon was a flighty person, always searching for something new to grab her attention. "ugh, of course, you wouldn't believe it. i took a six week course on dj'ing once." she hooked up with a dj and sat in his booth during his sets until she grew bored of him. "i could totally do a better job. but appearances, you know? classy. sophisticated," miyeon adds, glancing to the brunette curiously. "got a spare?" she asks with a bright smile, gesturing to the lit cigarette in amy's hand.

like a bee around a flowers , the actor keeps making his rounds at a party , his natural ( devilish ) charm being enough to get him all the attention he needs for the night . a whiskey in hand as he makes his way towards his next victim , a devilish grin on his pretty features as he positions himself next to them , elbow resting against the bar . “ so , are we having fun yet or do i need to do something about it ? “
