These are NOT the only pronouns!! 

There are no “male/female” or “man/woman” pronouns. All pronouns can be used for any gender and are gender neutral.

We also do not use “preferred pronouns” due to people generally not having a pronoun “preference” but simply having “pronouns.” Using “preferred” can accidentally insinuate that using the correct pronouns for someone is optional.

When you hear the word sensuality what do you think of?

When you break the word sensual down it means “relating to the gratification of the senses”. 

As we get older,we become more sensual; intensifying the ability to connect to, awaken, and embody pleasure through sight, taste, smell, touch, sound.

In a nutshell, Sensuality is an area of sexuality rarely taught in a formal setting. 

Below are some key areas where sensuality can be explored.

Skin hunger: The need to be touched and held by others in loving, caring ways is often referred to as skin hunger. Some people need a lot of this some are content with minimal.

Body Image: The way in which we feel about our bodies, and how we experience our sexual selves. 

Experiencing Pleasure: This can be with a partner(s) or by yourself. Experience pleasure allows your body to be touch. People also experience sensual pleasure from taste, touch, sight, hearing, and smell as part of being alive.

Often times people don't understand the basics! Todays post is going to focus on communication loops. Check out the graphic above. 

Communication is essential in our relationships and friendships. Being able to communicate to a partner about likes and dislikes should be simple.  Some tips for effective communication!

1. Before, During, After:This is my favorite basic principle of sexual communication: it happens before, during, and after sexual experiences. I love this principle because it’s right, but I also love it because it takes some of the pressure off the sex itself. Check in with your partner(s) 

2.Write It Down: No matter how many ways you imagine approaching a conversation, some messages are just better/easier/hotter/funnier delivered in writing. This could be in the form of a text message or a note stealthily slipped to your partner(s) ; it could be a planned exchange of lists or letters; it could be a yes/no/maybe list, which can help you find inspiration as well as figure out where your desires overlap with your partner’s. 

3.Dirty Talk:This is a particularly useful method of communication for during sex, which is what people think you ruin by talking. Use talking dirty to show your enthusiasm or to instruct, and everyone will have a better time knowing that the experience was enjoyable for all parties.

4.Ask and Answer: Asking specific questions gives everyone a chance to clearly state their desires and limits in an honest, comfortable way
