“oh, i’m sorry, maybe you haven’t heard of me.” shawn twirls the pen between his fingers like a drumstick, but in his attempt to look cool simply catapults the pen across the room. his only option to save face is to place his hands on his hips and act casual. as if he’d meant to do that. “the name’s shawn spencer. i’m the best psychic detective in the world, man.” shoulders are pulled back, head held high. “i can predict anything, anytime and i know exactly how much money my autograph is gonna be worth someday.” dramatically lifting both middle fingers to his temples, shawn fakes a psychic vision.
“three-point-four trillion.” satisfied by his completely made up answer — and confident he doesn’t want to know the real one, because he can’t imagine his autograph being worth a dime — he grins and drops both hands back to his hips. “sounds like this is an investment you might wanna make while i’m feeling generous, doesn’t it? it’s okay, i’m flattered, i’ll totally do it, man.” a brief pause. “—you got a pen?”
