Hi everyone — We're asking for help for ourselves.

We are currently working to relocate from Arizona to Oregon to access mental health support and transitional housing programs that aren’t available here. This move is incredibly important for our safety, stability, and long-term future.

We're doing everything we can to be prepared — we have basic belongings, and travel essentials. But the reality is, starting over in a new state comes with immediate costs that we can’t fully cover alone.

We are raising funds to help with:

Safe travel to Oregon

Temporary lodging while we wait to get placed in a program

Food and daily essentials

Transportation once we arrive

Basic stability while waiting for housing approval

Our goal is to make sure we have a safe, stable landing — not just getting there, but getting through those critical first days and weeks.

At this time, we don't know exactly where we'll go, and aren't quite prepared for it, so we don't have an exact ETA. We also don't know what our situation will be like in terms of our ability to continue running our blogs for the near future, and assume it will at least be a month or so that we'll have zero access to any devices.

That said, please continue to send in submissions to any of our blogs. Just be aware that once we give notice, it may be a long time before we're able to get to it. Most of our blogs are currently empty, but the queue for @syscord-out-of-context will last into September as is.

As for our other blogs, I have privated almost all of them. They will be unprivated once we're settled.

As for our Discord servers, they are still open, as there are other staff members. We entrust any important decisions to them.

Please do not try to give us any comfort or condolences. This is fine. We will be okay. We merely want to give notice before a potentially long absence, as we were unable to give any explanation before we were hospitalised for a year in 2023.

Although if anyone knows about / has recommendations for any housing and disability/SMI services in Oregon, preferably around Eugene, please reach out to us either here or preferably on Discord at hydorsoa.

What is singletnormativity?

The concept currently has no formal, concrete definition, so let us propose one:

Singletnormativity is the assumption that everyone one interacts with is a singlet, ie is the sole occupant of their body. In other words, it is treating non-plurals and their experiences as the default and not accounting for anyone who falls outside that, consciously or not.

2. What are some examples of singletnormativity?

The assumption all systems possess (or should possess) a collective identity, a collective name, collective pronouns, collective labels, etc.

The assumption of a singular, unchanging presentation of identity in polls, surveys, questionnaires, etc.

An unwillingness to consider plural interpretations and analyses of media, dismissing them by deeming them "unworthy of exploration", accusing plural systems of "making everything about themselves", etc.

The assumption that plurality is always disordered, and thus must be diagnosed and treated so that the plural system can "return" to a state of singularity.

The belief that that state of singularity is inherently desirable to and good for all, making a lack of such a desire "unnatural".

A refusal to treat any headmates in a system outside of the one perceived as "the host" as people in their own right, dismissing any opinions and preferences they might express (or attributing them to "the host"), considering them to not be real, reducing them to imaginary friends and related concepts.
