Being Kakashi's Best Friend From Birth

You quite literally knew Kakashi from the moment you were born. Your parents had been friends and after Kakashi's mother died, his father would ask your parents to watch baby-Kakashi if he was gone for missions. Your mom had always wanted a lot of children, so he was accepted into the household immediately and as you grew up, Kakashi was always there.

He obviously flew through the academy and the ranks at a much faster rate than you did, so when you were having trouble learning something or needed someone to practice with, you could always ask him and he would help you.

After his father passed, your parents basically took him in even though he didn't want to live with you and your family. Your mother would cook meals for him if she knew he was just getting back from a mission and check in on him. You would burst in through his living room window whenever he tries to seclude himself away and plead with him to train with you to get him out of the house, or threaten to sing at the top of your lungs (you don't have the best voice) until he leaves with you.

You would occasionally be teased as "Kakashi's little girlfriend" by people who don't know that your relationship is much more "aloof older brother and annoying little sister".

You know how to read him so you know when to back off and let him have his space instead of hounding him to eat some damn food and get some sunshine, like certain anniversaries or times of the year that were difficult or traumatizing in the past. So you're surprised when he actually starts to seek out your company during those times.

How They Show They Care For You

(Yes! I am still crazy over this wild man.)

Don't expect any grand gestures or presents from him. At all.

Besides not killing you and suddenly not shooting insults at you like he does with some of the others, there will be very small little things he does for you without drawing any attention to them. If you bring them up then most of the time he will be armed with an excuse.

Fixing your clothes for you. You'll put on something that was a little ratty and the holes will be fixed. (You would just have to buy a new one and that's a waste of money, of course.)

Protecting you in a battle that gets over your head. (It would be a pain to replace another member and if you're injured then they would have to pick up the slack.)

Cuddling? (He is not cuddling, he is sleeping and you're on him and he's tired so just stay still and let him rest.)

Kakashi Dating A Depressed Reader

Kakashi's familiar with depressive episodes/thoughts, but hasn't dealt with depression himself.

That doesn't mean he doesn't catch on quickly. He sees how your smile falls when you think no one is looking, how you sometimes don't eat until he pushes food on you, or sometimes you just sit in the living room and stare at nothing deep in thought until his voice snaps you out of it.

At first he thinks maybe you're just going through a hard time - he knows how difficult some times of the year can be when you're remembering people you've lost or things you've gone through in the past. But when he sees how long it is going on he can't brush it off anymore.

Especially when Kakashi comes home to hear the tea kettle whistling loudly in the kitchen and you're sitting on the floor, your back against the cabinet and your knees pulled up to your chest. You don't even hear him come in. You have the same blank expression on your face that he's seen before as you stare across the room at nothing.

He will move the kettle and turn off the stove, then slide down the cupboards to sit on the floor next to you. He's close enough that you can reach out if you want but you still have some space. He would sit with you for a while just so you have someone near you until you finally say something or decide you're done sitting.

Kakashi would listen to you if you feel like talking about it, he'll ask you to tell him what he can do to help, and might seek out advice (quietly) from people who he thinks might how to help you.

Neji cannot flirt. At all. Will not even contemplate trying until he notices you and sees someone else flirt with you. If he does try it, it will be one of the most cringey things you've ever seen.

Hinata would be the best person to confide in. She would be the perfect listener, offer advice when needed, but also know when someone just needs to get something off of their chest. Would actually keep everything you say a secret. And if you offer enough to listen to her about her problems she might finally let loose and you can return the favor.

How Iruka Would React To Having A Jinchuriki S/O

Hello protective-Iruka! He knows how dangerous it can be to be a Jinchuriki, so he will be worried all the time about you leaving Konoha even though he knows trapping you in the town isn't a solution.

He will defend you against anyone in the village who speaks about you like you're dangerous or a wild-animal, and will bring up Jinchuriki in lessons with his students so they learn about them from a source other than their parents.

Is in awe of how much chakra you have when he sees you battle or train. Sometimes it's easy to just see his girlfriend and forget that you are also a very skilled kunoichi with more chakra than many other shinobi combined.

If anything were to happen to you - like being kidnapped by the Akatsuki or being pushed in battle enough to let out the tails - Iruka would be on the front-lines in a heartbeat ready to bring you home safely however he could.

Whenever you have any close-calls Iruka spends the night with his arms locked around your shoulders, holding you tightly to his chest even in his sleep. Good luck getting up in the middle of the night, he has an iron grip on you when he's worried.

Kakashi Finding Out You Read Icha Icha

It was a guilty pleasure of yours to read those books. You had never admitted out loud to anyone, Kakashi included, that you would sometimes pull them out from under your mattress when you felt particularly lonely.

So imagine Kakashi's face when he says something fairly innocent that happens to be in Icha Icha, and you respond with the exact same line as the character in the book. You two were cooking dinner and he froze and stared at the back of your head, then seemed to brush it off as coincidence. When he doesn't call you out you decide to have some fun.

When Kakashi comes back from a mission, you give him a big hug and make sure to use a quote from Icha Icha when the woman welcomes her lover back from war. You feel him freeze up in your arms and you're glad your face is buried in his shoulder because you can't hide the grin at his reaction.

There's a few times when you think he's figured it out (at least enough to accuse you) but he doesn't, either chalking it up to coincidence or waiting for more proof.

So you spend the next week while Kakashi is gone on a mission brushing up on the latest book that you know he had his nose buried in most of the time, taking notes of some good quotes to use. Some of them were more innocent and could be brushed off as everyday conversation but some of them...you're sure Kakashi wouldn't be able to deny where they came from.

It feels like forever until Kakashi finally comes home, kicks off his sandals and you meet him in the kitchen with a big hug and a grin. "I'm glad you got home safe." It was one of the more innocent quotes, but if you followed the scene it wouldn't be soon. "It was a hard one." With your arms still around him you froze - that was the next line. You slowly pulled back to see his eye turned up in a smile, so you soldiered on with the lines you knew followed. "I hope that's not the only thing that's hard."

He doesn't even say anything, just throws you over his shoulder and to bed the both of you go. He keeps following the lines with you but acting everything out moves too slowly so they were mumbled in a rush against your skin while he tugs off your clothes.

Afterwards you are tucked into his side, head on his chest and leg thrown over his and enjoying the way he traced small circles on your hip. He nuzzles his nose into your hair and you can hear the smile in his voice when he asks, "How many of them have you read?"
