if heiji is there, he will definitely say oi kudo at least 10 times within the first 30 mins of the show and then start arguing with kazuha over nothing

kogoro is useless, he's either drinking with the suspects/victim or simping over barely legal women (who are usually also suspects)

agasa hakase is randomly there dressed in a onesie to make a pun for 2 minutes and then he's gone again.

conan makes an excuse in order to track the culprit or talk to the fbi/psb, like needing the toilet ?? or staying the night at hakase's house

if heiji is part of the case, conan will think 'souka...!' after solving something and then say 'oi, hattori...', and then heiji will smirk and say 'aah, machigai nai'. and then they start running off together in the same direction

at some point, ran will be in danger and then randomly mistaken conan for shinichi as she's blacking out. the after image of shinichi starts forming behind conan, usually as he calls her name

conan will chase the suspect and defy gravity on the skateboard along impossible objects, like bridges, ropes, cars, ferris wheels, trains, cranes, pipes, buildings, satellite dishes etc. bonus if conan does a sick flip midair over a car or a truck and the kids in the car scream 'kakoii!!!'

conan has ESP and knows exactly when ran is thinking of him so he screams RAAAAAN in the middle of whatever he's doing

mansplaining to the murderer with a smirk on his face and then one half of his glasses turn white. bonus if he has his foot on a ball or his fingers on the dart watch

criminal: 'dare dayo, boya?!' *smirk* 'edogawa conan, tantei sa.' there is usually also wind blowing his hair around. don't ask why.

in the middle of the case there will be a haibara cameo, & conan will use her to find case relevant info and then hang up on her mid-sentence when she's telling him to be careful. and then haib will be like '*sigh* mattaku' but also smile a bit (girl stand tf up)

the detective boys will yap / send images to conan about something entirely unrelated to the case and then somehow conan solves the entire mystery. a bolt of light zips past his head and he's like 'naruhodoune.' and then he runs off with ran calling 'matte conan kun!' after him

" hah?! clearly not. " heiji snaps in a knee-jerk response to the lie. it's his first time at the kudo mansion, but there are clear signs it's been occupied: the dirtied mint mug peeking out from the edge of the sink, the faint hum of the heater, the lack of dust on the exposed furniture ... that all indicates upkeep.

there has to be a reason why kudo's blatantly lying about it, but heiji's not gonna press for details - not in the house where this so-called 'no one else' can listen in.

kudo glares at him for not following along ... but man, how was he supposed to know?! heiji returns a look with the same ire before folding, agreeing deliberately with a forced chuckle, " oh wait, uh ... yeah! on second thought, it has 'ta be. ya know how my imagination can run wild sometimes. "

he can't help but smirk when he sees the familiar silhouette of that private detective. call it pavlovian, but an adrenaline junkie will always have a physical memory of the highs, & most of his are intrinsically tied to kudo as conan. it's no suprise that a rush of excitement blossoms. danger magnet, shinigami ... kudo's all the way in tokyo, but his monikers have echoed their way back to the west. heiji licks his lips expectantly. he's improved since the last time they've come to heads. he's itching to test kudo's mettle once again in a battle of wits.

the path to the shrine is cordoned off. though the police have since completed their investigation & removed the rictused body of the kannushi, there's still remnants of violence in the splinters & stains - there's no telling when sengen shrine will re-open to the public. as such, the usual bustle of the shrine is absent; the air stays dead quiet.

as per usual, heiji can't leave well enough alone. while the officers run the autopsy & mull over crime scene photos, he elects to retrace the crumbled steps to the shrine, police work be damned. maybe they'd missed something. he'd been about to call it quits, but with this fateful encounter, heiji can safely say the further detective work hasn't been for nothing.

he sizes up the strange girl before him, uneasy. though she seems rather unassuming, dressed neatly in a high-schooler uniform, there's absolutely no reason for her to be loitering in a place like this. she's not surveying the path, investigating like he is. ＆ though he's already written her off from being the main offender - she's not tall enough to match the angle of the slash wounds, for one - she's definitely suspicious.
