rosalia gave him a soft smile in response, leaning her back against the counter. “i know,” she spoke. “i’d rather do that than patch you up. it’s totally not fun.”

“let’s talk then,” he suggested with a smile. “it’ll be like you didn’t heal me beforehand. just two normal people talking.”

“and i’ll always be here.” rosalia sighed, crossing her arms over her chest. “i wish i could make you guys invincible or something. not that i wouldn’t want to see you guys as often as i do, but i’d rather see you for a conversation than a healing process.”

“i know you will. i’m thankful for that,” he stated with a smile. “we can always hang out and have a conversation rosa. you know”

‘the key to a perfect execution is having a solid warm up song. there’s nothing better than a solid throwback hit to get me in the right mood to commit a felony. backstreet’s back is my go to, every time.’

“it’s basically like working out. you have a tune that gets you in the right mood. not gonna lie though, everybody from backstreet boys is a jam.”

“…alright, you’re all set.” rosalia’s voice rang throughout the room, a smile coming to her lips as she looked up at her patient. “now i want you to be careful next time so i don’t have to do this again.”

“thank you,” he smiled as he leaned back against the chair. “well you know what we do is dangerous. no matter how careful i am, i will always come back to you.”

kaden’s grin grew wider as he heard the other exclamation from the window. “just promise me you’re not going to turn the bass up so loud that you can’t even hear the music anymore..” the words were light, meant to be taken in a teasing manner because kaden wasn’t the type to judge others on how they lived their lives, especially when it came to small things like that. “i never tried to be discreet, though. i figured hiding in plain sight would be a better idea than skirting around like i’ve done something wrong.” he shrugged, glancing back at his car for a moment. “are we, though? i think this just goes to show that we happen to have really good taste in cars. plus, they get us positive reactions and attention. i can’t find anything to complain about there.”

“i don’t know if i can promise you that,” kylian chuckled. his brown orbs looked back at the car before they landed on the tall man. “listen, you’re right. there’s not a lot of people who can afford these cars so might as well show off while we can. plus, it attracts girls so much easier, which i’m not against.”

kioni was surely a woman out of her time. listening to old soul classics.. vinyl records.. such a sound system was something that she didn’t and never owned. but seeing that smile on his lips, it was obvious that he was passionate about his music. “how much was it?” she asked curiously, fingertips still travelling over the blaring speakers. “they’re worth whatever you paid.”

“free,” he proudly said, the smile never leaving his face. he knew to some music was just music. they didn’t care about the sound an audio system could make as long as it played music. but to kylian, it was different. he wanted everything he owned to stand out among the crowd. “lorena stole them.”

she chuckled. “what kind of friend would i be if i allowed you to be bored?” taking the lighter from him, ronnie lit her cigarette as she began to head down the street. “well, that just depends on what you’re up for. there’s a few parties i know about, but if you’re in the mood for some illegal activities, there’s this nice house around and it’s owners are on vacation. so, i was thinking we could take a little look around?”

“a bad one, for sure,” he stated in a playful tone. “the parties sound great, not gonna lie. bu i’m in the mood for some house trespassing. you know for how long they’re away? because it would be cool to host an underground party there,” he suggested. 

Elliot nodded along to Kylian’s song, appreciative of the music though it wasn’t stuff he listened to often himself. After all, it was Kylian’s car, and he was a firm believer in the driver always having first dibs on the music. “I like that one but I wanna hear that bass from the song Yellow on your speakers.”

“okay hold on,” the man stated as he searched for the song on his iphone. why did music make him so happy? he had no idea. but the simple fact of sitting in his car while playing loud music was enough to make kylian spend a great day. finally, he pressed the play button, the first low notes blaring through the speakers.

a small smirk played on the edge of her lips until she was grinning from ear to ear. her rollercoaster relationship with kylian was exhausting yet thrilling. she never how much was too much with him. “okay.” she replied sweetly. she slid into the passenger’s seat once again, setting her purse down on the arm console. “I’m sorry for hitting your car.” it was the best apology he would get from the young girl– one he’d have to take.

kylian was used to this. they were both used to this. that’s how their relationship worked. and he wouldn’t trade it for the world. as the brunette jumped into the car, he drove off. “it’s okay, babe,” he spoke softly, his demeanor completely switched. 

“ aw poor killy. ” they teased in their baby voice leaning over so to place a kiss on his cheek jovie smiled, “ your life must be so hard, you’re all alone and nobody understands you so you just spend your money on expensive speakers and fast cars. ” giggling at their own joke before kissing his cheek once more before plopping back down in their seat, “ don’t be such a baby. ”

with a playful roll of his eyes, kylian shook his head. “i hate you,” he exclaimed as he nudged their side. 

with a roll of her eyes she curtly replied, “yeah, i am.” he hadn’t forced her out of the car but he may as well have. anybody who knew eva personally could tell you she was a crybaby. she wanted what she desired without any cost to her. however, every battle didn’t have to be fought so fiercely. kylian was just as headstrong and if she didn’t play her cards right, she would be standing by the side of the dirt road alone. “if I get back in the car, will you be nice for more than two seconds?”

eva was a brat. she knew how to manipulate kylian. and each time he would fall for her tricks. somehow, he loved that side of her, although it initiated so many of their arguments. but the way she used her surroundings to get what she wanted made him appreciate this woman. opening her car from the inside, he leaned forward. “come on, get in. i’ll be nice for an hour if you want.”

Lilith looked at cars the same way she’d look at someone pretty at a bar, mouth agape and fingers itching to touch. Range Rovers were no different, her hands lightly running against the leather interior, a soft contented sigh escaping her lips. “Beautiful,” she complimented with a ghost of a smirk. She couldn’t get out another word before the sound system erupted into Dr. Dre, bass shaking her to her core, nearly causing her to clutch to her chest. “Jesus fuck, man! What’re you tryna burst my ear drums? What’d I ever do to you?”

the man looked over at the brunette as she took her time to admire one of his prized possessions. it was nowhere near the luxury cars he had in his garage. but this one was his more practical one. a girl who enjoyed cars was rare and for that matter, he knew he could get along so well with lilith. at her sudden outburst, he gently lowered the volume with a laugh. “that’s how loud i listen to my shit to be honest,” he explained.

“Yeah, I need ear plugs,” Elliot laughed, though he was also amazed that Kylian’s speakers could play even the lowest frequencies of bass without just dropping them like his own sound systems tended to do. “When this song is over play that new Aminé shit.”

“nah you’re good, come on!” he insisted with a smile. instantly, he rapped along to the music. he knew every lyric of his favorite songs — his memory never deceiving. “which one? spice girl?”

her far more stoic presence often clashed with kylian’s,    finding herself taken aback by even the simplest of his actions.    brow raising when he begins speaking so highly of these speakers,    allowing her frame to ease itself into the comfortable seat.    she visibly jumps at the loud beats now echoing into the car,    shaking her head at how silly she must have looked.     ❝      jesus kylian are you trying to go deaf    ?    don’t tell me this is how loud you listen to your music all the time.    ❞      

unable to contain a laugh at the brunette’s reaction, kylian looked over at her. as she first spoke, he lowered the volume in order to hear her clearly. “when i’m in the car? yes that’s how loud i listen to it. well i mean, even when i’m home, that’s how loud i listen to it. but speakers are made to listen to music loudly.”

         blonde brows come together in very obvious confusion. sure it was good, but not good enough for hanna to reason abandoning her beloved bed. “ yeah, okay, lit. ” she commented, barely loud enough to be heard over the music. “ is this why you called me out here? ” she questioned, voice growing a little. “ i thought we were getting at least a little fucked up. ” never one for subtlety, the words left her bluntly.

the innocent looking blonde would always surprise people with her bold words. kylian was used to it though. “partly,” he replied with a shrug of his shoulders. “but i see you’re not that interested which is unfortunate. but between you and i, of course we are gonna get fucked up.”

beckham allows his hazel eyes to roam over the well-kept interior, showing his appreciation with an approving purse of his lips that melts into a teasing grin. ‘should have your driver use this on your next run,’ he muses, reaching out to tap his forefinger against the stereo set up between them. ‘heard you like to blast whitney houston on your way it, this baby’ll get JUST loud enough to drown you out once you get to the high notes.’

kylian let out a chuckle as his gang mate spoke. “my secret’s revealed,” he played along. “i wanna dance with somebody by whitney always gets me in the mood for some robbery,” the man continued. 

fastening her own seatbelt, kioni sat back in the passenger seat, curiously watching him with a soft smile on her lips. “is that right?” she mused, giving a nod. “go on then, let me hear it..” she insisted, polished accent shining through. hearing the familiar instrumental blare, kioni hummed. “mm, there we go..” she nodded, hand running over the speakers, fingers splaying, feeling them bounce, thud with the beat of the music. “that’s amazing.. you can feel it… in your chest..” she insisted, referring to that drum of music that seemed to travel through you when it was played at a certain level.

his head bobbed to the music — something he couldn’t control. it was in his blood. he loved music. and although he didn’t have the talent to make it, he listened to it on a daily basis no matter his mood. somehow it was better than therapy. a song could make him feel better after the very first notes. a smile played on his lips as he witnessed kioni enjoy the feeling of his new sound system. she got it. “it’s crazy right?”
