This is a verse in which Tails had the strength to follow his heart, leave the Eggman Empire and side with the resistance.

Because he’s been with Eggman so long, he knows the procedures, bases, passwords (granted a lot of them are probably changed by now), mechs - all like the back of his hand. He’s your go-to Eggman expert, as well as lowkey resident fanboy.

Unfortunately, he has those routines drilled into him. He isn’t used to having less responsibility, and even gets antsy when he doesn’t get similar workloads to what he had.

No matter how much he hides it, and like most people back home, Tails misses Eggman. This man raised him for a good chunk of his life and nothing will make him forget that. In his weaker moments, sometimes he thinks about going back, but he knows that’s not a good idea.

Tails feels uneasy about his role in the resistance; because of his history, he doesn’t feel trusted around everyone else, whilst simultaneously feeling he doesn’t deserve such trust.
