The Vessel's smug look doesn't fade as they stare down at Hornet as she speaks, their shoulders shaking and their eyes squinting slightly with their silent laugh. They're never so expressive, not in a positive way at least, but they had...an urge just now. It was harmless teasing, and they could tell easily that their sister wasn't mad at all.
"You don't want to be this tall, sister, it's inconvenient. Besides, it would be such a tragedy if I couldn't pick you up anymore."
They place their hand on their hip after that and feign a sorrowful look as best they can. They admit, they didn't know this part of them really existed, and they find they're conflicted about whether they should be indulging like this, but...
At this one moment, they also find they don't care.
Under normal circumstances the new weaver queen would not tolerate such a smug look and laughter at her expense but this was certainly not normal circumstances. No, this should be celebrated because their sibling was actually expressing themself so beautifully and seemed to be having fun. What kind of sister would she be if she took that away from them?
"Hmph, perhaps you are right. It would be embarrassing trying to navigate through the tunnels and getting stuck. Ghost has done that enough for us all when they first molted."
That had been hilarious honestly, and she had teased them so very often afterwards. Perhaps she should tease them lightly again... Perhaps it would help them feel better. That or bringing the three little ones to visit soon. Hornet then catches what Pure signs at the end and blushes with an amused huff.
"I must admit that it was fun to be carried all over the palace by you. It certainly helped to keep me from getting into shenanigans. Or at least it had the attempt to do that."
Pure chitters softly at that. Of course they understood the struggle of getting through the tunnels, before they had managed to efficiently. The kingdom unfortunately had not been made for bugs of their size, but they had not been made to roam it in the first place.
"That was the only time I could rest. I cannot tell you how much I worried over you every time you slipped off."
They couldn't think of a time they hadn't been stressed back then, particularly because of Hornet. Really though, panic inducing as those days were, they did still cherish them. They stepped over to their dropped nail on stiff legs and picked it up, buzzing in protest as they stood up straight again. They won't admit it, they never do, but their body was hurting far more than they realized it had been now that they'd calmed down. How annoying.
