Hornet stands there confused as the stranger does so but let's them out of curiosity. Once done she feels the ribbon and bows her head slightly, "thank you for the gift stranger."
The little Nosk had always struggled with transforming, never quite getting the hang of the ability that its kind was known for. So taking the form of Hornet as its very first successful transformation just shows how much of an impact her influence had on raising the little Nosk! And while using Hornet's form, the little one was also mimicking a few of her attacks during the battle. While its attacks aren't quite perfect copies, it's enough that it is able to assist Hornet right now.
And it was clear the adult Nosk did NOT like having to deal with two opponents now, as its attacks became more desperate! This worked against it as the threads of silk have done their job of completely entangling its body, causing it to topple over onto its side. It continued to thrash and screech, unable to break free of its bonds, trapped and completely helpless now!
Hornet would normally be more impressed by such a thing but as their lives were currently threatened she put that on the back burner. The queen could feel the swell of pride trying to rise in her chest but she forced it away in order to defend herself and the little Nosk from the adult one still attacking. She would deflect any blow she could with her needle to keep both herself and the little Nosk safe.
However once the adult Nosk is completely wrapped up and trapped in the silk she sighs in relief. Good. While she could just take her own Nosk and leave the other to its fate she didn't want to risk it freeing itself to wreck havoc once more. Though what stayed her hand was in fact her own little Nosk, she didn't want to traumatize the poor thing by killing it in front of them. "Little one, go find the exit. I'll be right behind." It was a pathetic attempt to get the young Nosk away but she tried it regardless.
As the little Nosk continues to watch the battle, its instincts told it to run away and abandon Hornet, so that it could live. However, those instincts were at war with the loyalty that came from the little Nosk being raised by Hornet. It couldn't bring itself to abandon Mama Hornet while she was fighting the adult Nosk! The little one saw how brave Hornet was and it wanted to be just like its Mama! It wanted to……be……brave!
As the adult Nosk attacked Hornet, it doesn't notice how it's being slowed down from the threads of silk entangling it and making its movements difficult. But when it raises its claws for another strike, something unexpected happens! Hornet's own voice can be heard shouting, "Shaw!" and then a miniature version of Hornet leaps onto the adult Nosk's back to stab it with a sharp rock! This interrupts the adult Nosk's attack and causes it to let out a pained screech, as it attempts to shake the miniature Hornet off of its back, which also makes it get even more entangled in the threads of silk!
Hornet wouldn't have blamed the little Nosk for fleeing though that was the furthest thing from her mind focused on the fight as she was. She was ducking and dodging, doing her best to not only avoid the attacks but do damage back and also entangle the Nosk further. It seemed to be working as its speed was gradually lowered and she was having an easier time of it.
Hornet's attention is drawn away by the sudden and very familiar shout and looked up in surprise at the sight of... her?! Well, a much smaller version of her anyway. Deciding that she wouldn't let this opportunity go to waste the queen dashes forward, needle poised, and she stabs it into the adult Nosk's front as it rears back. Of course she had taken care to avoid her own Nosk's form to avoid hurting it as well.
The adult Nosk focuses on Hornet, seeing her as the primary threat that could potentially ruin its chances of being able to eat. It starts swinging its claws, chomping its teeth, and spitting globs of acid to try and subdue her!
The little Nosk is still frozen in fear, its instincts screaming and telling it to run before it gets eaten! But it just can't bring itself to move at all! However, hearing Hornet's command to run cuts through the fear and the little Nosk scampers away to hide behind a rock, peeking out to watch the fight between Mama Hornet and the adult Nosk.
Hornet found herself ducking and dodging about the area to avoid the attacks of the adult Nosk, actively leading it away from the younger one's hiding spot. Instead she lured it to the other side of the space, using her needle to try block, attack and string up silk that held her spiked ball tools. Sure the Nosk could easily cut through the silk strands but in so doing it was in fact getting the threads stuck and tangled up onto it slowly.
Sadly however, she couldn't avoid every single attack of the Nosk fully at all times thus gaining cuts and scrapes. Despite this she doesn't react to a single one, solely focused on staying alive as she is.

The little Nosk lets out a startled yelp when Hornet yanks it backwards! It's confused by her actions until the not-food bug unleashes a deafening roar and transforms into a fully grown adult Nosk, drooling and ready to eat Hornet and the little Nosk!
The poor little Nosk has spent all its life around Hornet and the bugs in the village, so it has never encountered another of its own kind. And the poor thing is shaking and whimpering, completely terrified by the adult Nosk in front of it! The adult Nosk raised its claws to attack, but Hornet's little Nosk is frozen in fear, unable to move at all as tears start to roll down its face.
Hornet ignores the startled yelp and instead is watching as the other grown Nosk transforms. She gives her own hiss in return and holds her needle confidently though she does flinch when she sees her own little Nosk looking so terrified.
"Run, get away!" She commands to the small Nosk trying to get through the terror even as she braces for the adult Nosk's attack. Her needle catches and deflects the other's claws as she then tries to lunge at it for a counter.
The Nosk follows its nose, tracking the strange smell, until it eventually finds a not-food bug. This one smells different than the other not-food bugs in the village, but to the Nosk, it only sees this as an opportunity to make another friend! And it believes Mama Hornet will give it more praise for not trying to eat the not-food bug! So the Nosk chitters happily and walks right up to the not-food bug.
Unfortunately for the poor little Nosk, it is not intelligent enough to be suspicious of finding one of Hornet's subjects so far away from the village, in the middle of nowhere, seemingly waiting for someone to come closer to them. It's a trap and the poor little Nosk is unknowingly waltzing into danger!
Hornet is following the Nosk but all the while she is keeping an eye out for danger. One does not venture through Deepnest casually after all. She starts to gain more and more suspicion the further they go and when she spies the bug just standing there, she tenses immediately.
"Stop! Don't approach it!"
The weaver queen quickly rushes forward to grab her little Nosk to pull it back from the suspicious other bug. All the while her needle is poised and ready to attack, her guard on high alert.
The Nosk is so happy to receive praise from Hornet! That lets it know that it's being good. It's bouncing up and down with its tongue hanging out of its mouth in an adorable way!
But then the Nosk stops and starts sniffing the air. It smells something unfamiliar. Not a prey bug nor a not-food bug. It doesn't know what this unusual smell is, but it wants to go find out! So it grabs Hornet's cloak in its mouth and starts to gently tug on the cloak, wanting Hornet to come with it to investigate whatever it's smelling.
Hornet giggles at the way the Nosk seems so happy to receive the praise. It was rather cute honestly. Of course it stops soon enough upon seeming to smell or sense something and that makes Hornet tense. While the Nosk doesn't seem agitated, she didn't didn't trust anything that could draw its attention. So when it began to pull at her cloak she followed along easily, keeping quiet as to keep the thing from noticing their approach.
The Nosk is having so much fun! Hunting, eating prey, exercising, all of it is fun when with Mama Hornet! It even catches its prey and brings it to Hornet, dropping it at her feet and looking so proud of itself. Now that it was bigger, it no longer needed to hide behind Hornet for protection, so it wants to show her just how good of a hunter it is!
The Weaver queen watches as the little one hunts down prey to eat or bring to her. It was actually kind of cute just how excited it got to show her the results. It'd been a sort of challenge to train the Nosk to hunt only proper prey as it grew bigger and bolder. Teaching the little one to solely focus on bugs that were not her citizens. Seeing the Nosk come proudly present its latest catch to her has her giggling and nodding, "very good little one."
Oh, the Nosk absolutely HATED those times when Hornet wouldn't allow it to follow her! It has no idea where Hornet was going when she told it not to come with her and it was absolutely miserable waiting at home all by itself.
This is why it's really happy that today isn't one of those times, so the Nosk is happy to go hunting with Hornet!
Hornet knew that the Nosk great disliked being left at home but she also knew that the risk for something to go wrong was greater now that the little one was more grown. Why invite trouble when it was better to just leave the little one at home? It was getting better at understanding her commands after all.
Meanwhile, the queen was happy to be hunting as well... She had a stressful week and this was a needed venture to ease that agitation, get the Nosk fed and exercised, and to let out steam. Perfect all around she believed.

The Nosk very much enjoys spending time with "mama" Hornet and follows her around wherever she's going. Which is exactly what's happening right now. It has no idea where Hornet is going, but it's gonna tag along with her!
Hornet was amused by just now much the Nosk enjoyed tagging along with her on errands. Of course, she had worked on training it to remain home at times when it was inappropriate to come with her, like to the City of Tears.
However this was just a run around the Deepnest area to hunt and patrol the areas for any troubles. She didn't mind at all that the Nosk would accompany on this trip since it was just extra protection in a way.
Hornet, do you have this strange feeling like something is about to happen to you? (In reference to the Silksong announcement.)
"It certainly feels like something big is on the horizon for sure... I am certain that I can handle whatever it is though." After all she had her family and friends to help her with whatever was coming. Right?
It has been quite a while since the baby Nosk imprinted on Hornet and started following her as its "mother". In fact, it's been so long, the Nosk isn't really a baby anymore, since it's gone through a few molts and gotten bigger! It's not fully grown yet, so it's not an adult, more like a teenager.
What does Hornet think about this development?
Hornet had tried and failed time and time again to part with the little Nosk but found that each time she tried the little creature would always return due to its imprinting. Finally she had conceded to raising the bug and being sure to socialize it carefully with other bugs so it wouldn't think of them as prey. It was strange to her that she had somehow gained such a vicious bug as a pet of sorts but here she was now.

The baby Nosk nuzzles against Hornet, while licking her hand affectionately, a silent thank you for the bandage. In all honesty, the baby Nosk doesn't understand what the thing on its face is supposed to be, but it does understand that the pain started to feel better when Hornet put it there, which was good enough for the little Nosk.
The queen giggles a bit more at the way the Nosk nuzzles against her and nods to it. She's glad that it accepts this bandage upon its face actually. It was in fact her soul infused silk after all so it was go a long way to healing the little wound. She then stands up and picks up the needle so that way they could put it up for now.
"Let's put this away for now so no one else gets hurt."

The baby Nosk whimpers and leans into Hornet's touch, seeking comfort from its mama. It looks up to Hornet with a pitiful expression on its face, almost as if it was silently asking Hornet to make the pain in its nose go away.
Hornet continued to gently pet the little Nosk, working on soothing it. She then gets an idea and rather quickly, with all too skilled practice, the queen makes a bandage out of her silk for the baby to wear.
"There little one, no more fussing now."
When the baby Nosk successfully dragged the Needle all the way home by itself, it started celebrating by doing an adorable little dance!
It started prancing in place, letting out happy chittering sounds. Then it put all four of its feet together and started swaying its body side to side, before it went back to prancing in place. That's when it got on its back and started spinning in circles, like a tiny little top! After that, it got back to its feet and started swaying its body side to side much more enthusiastically than before. It then planted its feet and started bobbing its head up and down repeatedly, until… *BONK!* Oops! It got a little carried away and accidentally smacked its nose against the floor!
The baby Nosk begins whimpering, its eyes starting to fill with tears from the pain on their nose.
Hornet watches the little creature do it's victory dance, rather amazed by the fact it could pull off some of these moves. It also made her giggle at just how silly it was acting right then while dancing, rather entertained. Then the little thing just had to go and smack its face against the floor. Well that wouldn't do to have it cry so she went over and gently pet it on the head.
"There, there. No crying."
