“this is so stupid,” cillian groaned. “i mean i dunno what i was thinking. there are plenty of people who live in new york who never learn how to drive. i could just take public transit everywhere,” but even as the words were leaving his mouth, he was grimacing at the idea. it’s not that he thought he was above it or anything. but ever since he witnessed a rather traumatic experience on the subway as a child, he’d just kind of nixed the idea entirely. “i’d ride my bike, but it’s so fucking cold out,” he complained. he’d been doing a lot of that today. complaining. and he was pretty sure the person who’d reluctantly agreed to help him study for his permit test was starting to regret the favor entirely. “i haven’t taken a written test since high school, you know? this is gonna suck dick.”
" Relax man, you got this. If sixteen year olds can do it, so can you. ” HC himself didn’t drive. He had a license, sure. But he never used it. He’d walk, take a cab or bike over driving anywhere in the city. “ Start with the simple ones, how many sides on a stop sign and go from there. Only worry about the stupid things like length of a penalty for your third drag racing offence later. ” It had been a while since he and Cillian had really hung out properly so he’d been all too happy to assist. “ Tell you what. Each question you get right, I’ll buy you a shot next time we’re at Blue. ”
