I decided a note to future me (you?/us?) was appropriate for this 1000th tumblr post. I wanted to impart some little wisdom to you that has filled my heart in the late weeks. If there is anything that I want you to remember in your future life, it is to maintain even a glimmer of the perspective I have recently acquired. The world is SO beautiful. Of course this doesn’t sound particularly profound, but I wish so deeply that you will be able to hold on to these vibrant colours. The brilliant spectrum in every simple little thing is literally breathtaking and I want you to take a moment to breathe deeply, close your eyes and recall the sensation of a gentle breeze in the imperfect silence. I know life is hectic and things can seem utterly impossible. But I hope even this small whipser from the past will be able to breathe some fire into you. Look at me, I’m assuming you’re all sombre and lifeless! That’s a laugh! If you’re anything like I am now you will be as sunny and passionate as ever! And I am sure that you shall be! I have no intentions of letting you lose any of this wonderful overwhelming negative capability! Oh yeah, I just referenced a bit of Keats for ya ;) Right, so anywho dearest me, I want you to keep this message somewhere on your desktop or in a folder so you can open it in a few years or even in a few months and remember to stop spinning and breathe. Life is far too precious to spend it worrying and regretting. Stop tip-toeing and jump into the ice cold water sometimes…you never know, it could be refreshing! So now I am going to end this note to me/you/us and take advantage of a late class by sleeping! I love the idea of getting mail from the past in a few years!! Mayhaps I shall handwrite some as well and hide them for you to find ;) Keep smiling!! :D

You threw this glimmering gem out into the future and it found me when I needed it most. On a dark day, when things seem impossible, this post of all things reached out to me from the past to grab me by the shoulders and give me a gentle shake. Life IS beautiful and amazing, and incandescently unexpected. It is far too precious to waste on stress and worry....and I suppose now is the time for jumping into the cold refreshing waters of possibility. The universe works in mysterious ways, and hearing this important advice from my own young heart is absolute proof of that cosmic wonder.

So thank you, past me. I am not somber or lifeless, but I did need your words to breathe some forgotten fire into my soul.
