Instrumentation This is a design I sketched in one of my previous sketchbooks, but only picked up to ink last month. I have been working mostly in pencil for a while, and so wanted to work with the solid lines of a pen again. There is no conscious concept behind this; I was mostly experimenting with the character of the lines. Don’t remember if the slightly obvious resemblance to a uterus and ovaries was intentional or not.

 The first song I heard by Damien Rice. The usual routine for when he performs “Cheers Darlin’” live seems to be: invite an audience member up to the stage (to play the part of the girl), where a table is set up with two wine glasses, tell the story of the night he wrote the song while downing 3 or more glasses of red wine to “get back into the moment” (and also encouraging the guest to do the same), and then transition into the song.
