In heaven a soul bonding is a beautiful important ceremony of the joining of two separate souls. it’s akin to marriage for them. This is done by taking a flower of fruit from the other person’s tree and consuming it. This act cannot be forced as anyone not given permission to touch someone else’s tree will be burned. This act strengthens the power of both individuals and allows them to share everything they feel.

In hell soul binding is a calculated and complex act. often just seen as a way to gain more power. to soul bond you must take a root from your partners soul tree and consume it, this only works if both parties are in agreement to soul bond.

soul bonding doubles your power. you can also feel any pain your soul bound feels.

alastor gets extremely violent and high energy during mating season. this is increased due to the curse he’s under it also causes him to crash much harder.

Niffty in canon is a huge issue for me. The main problem with her is actually my main problem with a lot of women in the series and its she isn’t multifaceted in comparison to the men, it was a struggle for me to even come up with a backstory for her while keeping her original personality because of how surface level it is. she likes blood and gore and acts like a child… and what else, what are her motivations, what are her connections to the people around her. why does she enjoy blood and gore if she’s supposedly a clean freak, why is she okay with alastor owning her soul. There’s nothing that truly gives us a deeper perspective into who niffty is, and it’s kind of sad. She and vaggie share the same problem but in different ways they’re both used as tools to further other character’s development but never given any of their own.

So when making reborn niffty i talked with a friend to get more perspectives on how to write her and what her role should be. and came up with the idea of a clean freak 50s house wife who after the passing of her daughter accidentally murders her husband. she doesn’t behave like a child, another issue that annoyed me and instead is more controlled and obsessed with cleanliness than bloodshed. her only goal is to make the best of her time in hell by wiping the streets clean of all the filthy vermin roaming around.
