So onto my 80 series!
93 FJ80 Triple Locked. 260k. 3rd owner.
The IH8MUD user who owned it before me went through a ton of work to replace a ton of drivetrain parts with brand new OEM Toyota items.
Here are a few pictures of the outings so far.
Cleghorn:
Seriously impressed what a stock 80 can achieve. I was able to keep up with my friends taco relatively decent. My dad's 4runner not so much!! Managed to break 2 mud flaps from dragging them up hills and steep ledges.
Pilot Rock & Arrowhead:
240 community when I sold the car was so damn toxic as well.. Guys I looked up to were bashing my for sale posts on parts trying to clown.. Normally I don't let stuff bother me but alot of these guys I actually followed and found inspiration from during my build process.
They don't want to accept the fact that these cars and the parts that come with especially rare (ish) parts have RISEN a ton.. Random thoughts but don't let people bash you or make you feel shitty. Not worth it.
Last pictures I took of the car on the Model 5s.. Young kid came with his friend down from San Diego to drive it back! His plans were to drive it as is and use it as a daily. Hope it all works out well and he enjoys it as much as I did.
So it's been about a month since my last post. Lots of updates...
Biggest two changes.
The S14 is sold and gone.. BUT my new project is a 93 triple locked FZJ80!
The increase in prices for older cars really worked out perfect for me. Managed to sell the 240 for a decent price as well as 99% of the parts I'd been hoarding. Now, FJ80 prices have risen SIGNIFICANTLY more than 240 prices so I completely got fucked but man I can't be happier. Flew out to San Francisco and drove it 7 hours back down to Orange County.

Started a new job, sold a bunch of extra parts (bumpers, wheels, lights ect) Seriously debating if I'm at a point I want to part ways with the s chassis game. I've been seriously interested in FJ80 land cruisers for quite a while..
I'll see what I do. Being able to sell the 40 would definitely give me a huge boost into building a badass cruiser..

Also saw a good deal on some navan rear valences so decided to pick those up as well lol. Gonna attempt to paint my bumper, skirts and valences myself! Hopefully that turns out okay.

Old shell is gone. While I was in Florida I was flooded with messages of people to come and pick it up! A super cool guy named Ernie came and picked it up along with his friend (Marcus I believe). He is planning to cut it up and use the passenger side quarter panel and driver side front for his recently wrecked S14! He also is going to use the front windshield and passenger side door on his car.
