Into a place where thoughts can bloom.

Today marked 22 years that I moved from Chicago to Florida. Crazy. I’ve lived here longer than I lived in my hometown. I remember when I first moved here, I told myself to treat it like a really long vacation and one day, I’d go back home. And for many years, I wanted to move back as an adult. Now, I’m not so sure. So much has changed and I don’t know if it’s something I still want or even see myself doing. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve gotten so used to life down here and living in a suburb, or maybe I’m just older, that I don’t care to sit in city traffic (traffic in general anywhere sucks but you know what I mean right) nor do I care for chaos. What appeals to me more now is living in a quiet residential area or maybe even a little more isolated in a cute old house on a big piece of land. Though at the same time, being able to just walk anywhere also sounds nice. I don’t know, haha. Back then, I also had more to look forward to as far as people I’d spend time with. And realistically, I probably wouldn’t come around as often as I would’ve thought long ago just based on the fact we’re so different, I don’t think I’d be coming around often or for very long. I don’t know. What I do know is that Florida isn’t so bad after all despite the heat and humidity 😂 Don’t get me wrong, I still love Chicago with all my heart, but FL is okay lol.
