I am literally listening to chapter 34 right when Attes interrupts Nyktos and Sera's kissing. lmao
"a tall figure filled the entryway. The sword at the hip was a wicked, curved one, the kind crafted for beheading. Light, blondish-brown hair framed high cheekbones and a chiseled jaw as hard as the thin layer of shadowstone armor worn over a broad chest and shoulders. A shallow scar ran from his hairline and across the bridge of his straight nose, then down his left cheek, the healed wound a
shade of pale pink."
"The way he stood thereāthe frenetic, violent energy brimming just beneath his flesh and the glow of essence pulsing behind his pupils said one thing. He was a warrior. The Primalās silver gaze slowly drifted over us as the corners of his lips tipped up. A deep divot in his right cheek appeared first, and then an identical one in his left."
He is 100% without a shadow of doubt the primal the da'neer man come from. The hair is the same as Valyn and Malik, the dimple obviously, the detail of description in the nose which is interesting because casteel's nose has also a memorable description between the lines of incredibly straight for a guard and the angular face. Moreover, it's not only his looks but his personality which probably has something to do with the fact that he is the primal of war therefore his bloodline would maintain that attitude. Not only Casteel but also Malik and even Valyn have that exact same attitude. I am not sure how to explain it because it's not like a "superiority complex" but is like "I give a shit of what and who you are, I deserve respect and if I do not get it then I will make you respect me one way or another" which is fucking hot honestly, this dude attes could also bend me down any moment honestly.
plus Jen never writes in vain, if poppy says Casteel was like a god of war then there is a connection there
However, I am conflicted by all of this and a little bit confused because as far as I can recall attes it is not mentioned by flood and ash characters as to be the god of war but another god is, one of the twins that are friends with nyktos whose names I cannot remember but nektas said that casteel's ancestor was alive so i am so confused why he is alive and he is not the god of war by flood and ash time. My theory have always been that all god and primals of sera's time must have died so they were replaced and as sera and nyktos were king and queen they had their friends as the gods of different stuffs. But for now i am just confused
ALSO SAME I love my baby cas and my baby Malik but girl they are bad, i am sorry people cannot argue that they like literally murders, war crimes is the soft thing on their list lmao it just makes sense that they are descendant of the go of WAR but they are also good and fair people, they are protectors and want to actually save the realms so it also makes sense that they descend from ACORD. Even Nyktos says that Attes prefers accord over war however it is clear that he will not hesitate if needed just like malik and cas
I agree with you, but I also think they are in fact different from other characters despite many of them being brutal. Malik and Casteel just won't hesitate, they would go to the extreme if they believe it to be necessary. Violence and "War" are a part of them just as anything else, it's almost their primal reaction, they do not question, they get defensive and attack, and that reaction is shown multiple times. Examples: Casteel getting defensive over what Nektas says or when they visit nyktos, when malik threatened poppy after she made a comment about Millicent. Those examples show the type of attitude I meant in my other response but also the fact that they do not even consider or care little about who they are talking to, it could be a primal or a draken or a mortal, they do not care, another example is when kieran calls millie insane and malik is hurtful on purpose and remains him of the lover he lost, then Casteel when he killed all those mortals, Atlantians, and wolven for attacking poppy and displayed them in the grand hall. The point is that they do not care who they are hurting if they believe is needed, whatever is physical or emotional, they would choose violence when other characters do not but because their first instinct
idk maybe i am just talking nonsense lmao that it's just my perspective
plus I also want to see them interact, it will be so funny
as I said I am listening to the a light in the flame as I write this, now i am on mid of chapter 34 and attes does exactly what I was trying to point out earlier that malik and casteel do. He is violent, reckless etc and yet he does good things just as killing his brother's guards because they were abusing youngsters and in that way, he also gained some time to nyktos and sera.
