Look at her mouth for a second. Do you see it? Her lip is wobbling, and her breath is hitching… Clarke Griffin is watching Roan with a sword to Bellamy’s throat and she is so desperate that you can literally see it in every one of her features: her eyes are widened, she’s breathing heavily (it even hitches, I think) and her lower lip is wobbling. 

The point I’m making here is that Clarke didn’t just go from fight-mode to scared-teenage girl mode in the matter of five seconds. She is on the verge of t e a r s. On the verge of tears because someone is threatening Bellamy’s life. 

I can imagine it: the tears are burning in her eyes, heart pounding against her ribcage as she inhales sharply through her nose, gathering herself enough to scream: “I’ll do anything! I’ll stop fighting. Just please don’t kill him.” And if you’ve watched the scene as many times as I have, you know that her voice actually cracks at the word: him.
