what is hatterheart ?

hatterheart is the noncanon pairing between Red of Hearts & Max Hatter from Descendants Wicked Wonderland. i've been a fan of this ship for over a year to the point i do not care about the fact they're not canon #multishipping i mainly post about it on here but you will occasionally see some posts on my main about them

why not any other ship with red or max (ie glassheart, stronghat, strongheart or madcharm ?)

im not here to stop you if you do ship these ! i do enjoy like 3/4 of these myself in different ways i personally just like multishipping and have fun with that then sticking to one ship shipping is a fun way to explore character dynamics myself

oh but its not canon so why do you ship it ?

i really do not care about the fact its not canon.

what is the appeal of this ship in the first place don't they hate each other and max is responsible for some of the stuff in ww ?

i do not care about what max did or did not do #HEDIDTHATSHIT but anyways

idk if they hate each other this movie is not out yet really but yeah you can tell there is some form of dislike to one another but thats really not the appeal of the ship to me. to me the appeal is the fact they're parallels narratively however they go about it in different ways.

red & max are raised by controlling parents and go about it in different ways. red rebels its her whole thing she hates being controlled and she doesn't want to live out her predetermined path seen by her relationship with her mom & her time travelling to break her path and change everything. while max from what we can tell is working with his dad to an extent. we are unaware if its willingly or not currently but i do think the different approaches they have to their parents they are in a difficult and weird relationship with makes them so interesting even outside of shipping.

i think where their dynamic works in my head is that red & max feel like theyre looking into a mirror when theyre talking to each other and they hate it and take that anger out on each other.

and besides i think there is a lot of fun ideas of post canon as we see max in the castle at the end of the movie ! i will see how this plays out in canon but i am very excited for the possibilities we see of their dynamic and any potential way to get over it
