Good on you, young man. Home grown always seems to taste better. The kids are great, thanks, throughly over excited for the celebrations though. As for me I’m busy but I love being busy. Hopefully your chickens aren’t to bothered by the fireworks.

Home grown really does always taste better. Plus there’s the sense of accomplishment just knowing you took the time to grow or make something yourself. The fireworks didn’t seem to bother them too much, thankfully. How have you been lately? Up to anything new or exciting?

Oh, definitely. I retract my statement: this is the best place to live second to my home in England with all of my dads amazing cooking. We just gotta make this place feel a little more like that place, even if it is hard to do. You have to! If you don’t, just know that word will get back to me and I’ll do everything in my power to get you to stop working. Snatch the pencil out of your hand, lock up your guitars, shred all your paper, I will go to the greatest lengths to make sure you get the rest that you so truly deserve. Sure! I know there are a few celebrations going on here this weekend and even though we aren’t, you know, Americans, any excuse to drink some beers on a beach is a good one to take advantage of. So how about next weekend? We’ll go through the drive-in and you can help me with the massive bucket of popcorn. Well, thank you. I do quite pride myself on my cooking. I did learn from the best chef himself, Clinton Pugh. He’d be very upset with me if I didn’t keep up his legacy.  

I’ve heard so much about your dad, I need to meet him one of these days. Especially if he’s the one who taught you everything you know in the kitchen. Don’t worry, I’ve gotten a bit better at balancing out my work schedule versus my free time. Because if I spend too much time locked away in the studio or something, I’ll just go mad. Oh no, don’t shred all of my paper and lock up my guitars! They didn’t do anything to be punished for! That’s one thing I love about Americans. They always have the best parties and bring out the drinks for them too. That sounds perfect. You, the drive-in, and a massive bucket of popcorn sounds like a perfect night in my opinion. I’m sure Clinton is super proud of you. I haven’t tasted your dad’s cooking, but if his is anything like yours, then I already know he’s fantastic.

Sweetheart chickens mean that it’s definitely a good start for this farm of yours. Plus you have a lot of time ahead so it means more trips to Circle B and more time with cute animals. Do you already know what animals you wanna add to your little family?

I think so too! They seem to have made themselves at home here, so I can’t complain. I would like to get either a pig or goat. I haven’t quite decided yet. Possibly even a bunny, since that may be the next baby step in building up this place. 

Me too. I don’t mind going there when it’s for a job and I know I’ll be surrounded by my castmates because it’s always a fun time. But other than that, I’d rather go on walks, too. That’s true! And the other goat, Pancake, is a bit like her so it won’t happen anytime soon.

Yeah it’s a much different story when you have some friends around. It’s more exciting that way and you can have some fun in the mix. I love the fact that your other goat is named Pancake. If you get anymore goats, I urge you to keep the breakfast food names for them, since it’s obviously a theme now.

So now you’re Harry Styles: singer, songwriter, actor, boybander, I’m sure there are some other titles I’m missing but adding farmer to the already fairly long list was definitely not expected. Although, when I really think about it I can totally see it. You definitely give off the vibes or someone who can just chill and live on a farm for the rest of their lives. I think I’ll take you up on some of those eggs, actually. When you have a friend who has their own farm, you may as well reap the benefits. 

You forgot baker! My first job was in a little bakery back home. But farmer is now added onto my resume as well. Thank you! I quite enjoy the peace and quiet out here in Green Acres. It reminds me a bit of how quiet it can be back home at my mum’s place. So that also brings comforting feelings as well. I have more than enough eggs to give you. I can even drop them off every week or other week if you want. I just have more than I know what to do with, so I’m always happy to donate them off to someone who will use them. 

listen, my goal here is to make sure everyone in this town’s got baby goats. because i love them. i want to have goats wherever i go until i might just move out to a farm myself again, but for now… i just can’t keep them in my apartment. please name them niall, liam and louis. that would be absolutely hilarious. great, it will be fun. we’ll be laddy lads and all that.

How is your goal going so far? Have you convinced anyone to adopt a baby goat yet? You should move out onto a farm and adopt all the bay goats yourself! I have been debating on a Harry Potter theme and going with Harriet, Rhonda, and Hermione, since they’re all females. 

For sure, and also an added bonus that we stayed friends afterwards, and they didn’t end up hating us because of the loud, annoying chickens all over the place. But it’s true, you could have the quietest, most polite animals possible as pets, and you’d still find someone unhappy with something that they were doing, right? Makes sense! Let them speak to you and tell you what their names should be, right? I think that’s how it goes, sorta like with cats or dogs, the more you spend time with them, the more that they end up liking you.

Exactly, that’s always an added bonus. I’m sure it’s something you can laugh about now and look back on. I’ve seen so many ridiculous videos on the internet of crazy people complaining over calm pets who were doing nothing. I kind of want to give them three matching names. I was thinking about Harry Potter names. Since they’re all girls, I thought possible Harriet, Rhonda, and Hermione. I still haven’t made up my mind.

Always a big plus, there are some real animal lovers here in Bayview! I can imagine that some of them really know their stuff, or at least enough stuff that you won’t be in trouble with your chickens, anyway. Bunnies are fun! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I definitely don’t regret inviting Wiggles into my home and family, he’s great. Exactly, once you adopt a pet, their home is your home, you have to make sure that they’re comfortable and confident there, basically. I’m glad! And look at you, getting creative, that’s the best use of eggs!

I’m thankful for that, since I’m a big animal lover myself. I’m slowly planning building up the farm here. The key word being “slowly”. I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew. Especially with how busy my schedule can have the potential of getting with various projects. Bunnies do seem fun! I love the fact that the bunny’s name is Wiggles. Oh trust me, my cat has completely taken over the house. In his mind, it’s his house and I just pay the bills for him to keep him comfortable. I did have to call my mum to give me one of her recipes. And of course, she agreed that with fresh eggs, it was best to make them from completely from scratch.. Definitely worth it. Mums always do know best anyway.

Congrats! Now you’re a chicken dad! Always a bit of a rough start when you bring them home and aren’t used to having them around, but it’s great. You can never run out of ideas of what to do with the eggs! Though I will say that sometimes I have to start giving them away. Do you have names for them yet? 

Thank you! Luckily I have a friend who knows what he’s doing when it comes to chickens. So between my own research, learning from him, and also the workers at Circle B, I’m basically a chicken expert at this point. Plus they’ve had some time to settle in and get used to a routine and their new home. I definitely have been giving most of them away to friends and neighbors. Just because I’m simply one person and I can only eat so many eggs in a day. I haven’t named them yet, but I want to. I’m just trying to come up with the perfect names for the three of them. Preferably some kind of theme or matching names. Any ideas?

My mum thought I was jokin’ when I told her I was moving to the States, and now she won’t stop blowing up my phone. It’s like she’s forgotten that I’ve lived in the country before. She might also be worried I won’t have someone to help me wash my pants… as if I hadn’t been doing my own laundry for the better part of the last twenty years or anything. Despite what my dear ol’ mum might have you believe, I am actually very capable at doing my own laundry. We good, though, because I’ve got my brothers on it — maybe they’ll be able to keep her preoccupied… at least, for a little while so I can get unpacked.         Now, who’s going to tell me where I should eat and find a pint on my first week in town? @townofbayview

It sounds like she just misses you and wants you to settle in well. My mum was the same way when I first moved to the States and out of her place. Even though her house will still always be home to me, since that’s where I grew up. Maybe if you’re lucky, your mum will send you a nice care package. Mine did when I first moved into my new place. Welcome to town though, I’m Harry. As for the best places to eat, there’s food trucks that have the best food. And if you’re looking for a sit down restaurant I’d suggest Blackbeard’s or Tree Tops. And of course I recommend The Purple Cow or Sprinkles when you’re craving ice cream.

Three chickens? Now that’s cool, I always wanted to have chickens -but from an specific kind, so maybe one I will get to adopt those if I ever have the space that is, as it sounds that you do. Hopefully, the chickens have settled them well, oh have you named them already? And you know, I could take on the offer of the fresh eggs, according to the urban legends those taste the best and I will need to check if that’s indeed the case.

What’s the specific kind of chicken that you’ve always wanted? If you ever decide to make the leap and adopt, Circle B is the way to go! They are all settled into their new home, but I haven’t named them yet. I’ve been brainstorming names and thinking of a matching set of three names for them. So if you have any ideas, please blurt them out! I can confirm that they do in fact taste the best. I’ll get a carton together for you and drop them off sometime this weekend. Do you know how refreshing it is to see someone as young as you turning to “home grown?” I have horses and goats on mine but have been thinking about getting down hens as well. How are you though, Harry? If my Daugher knew I was taking to you she’d think all of her Christmas have come at one.

I figure since I’m living on a little farm now, I might as well transform into the farmer lifestyle. I already have a small little vegetable and herb garden, as well as my fresh eggs from my chickens. So far, I adore my chickens. They’re pretty easy to care for once you get the hang of it. Plus they have warmed up to me enough where they’ll let me hold and pet them for a bit. I’m great! I’m just looking forward to all of the festivities this weekend. How are you and the kids?

You adopted three chickens? That’s amazing that you have chickens now! What are their names? I bet you’ll be a farmer in no time. I’m always down for some fresh eggs, especially with all the baking I do and how many eggs I go through on a daily basis. And I have to ask, do they wake you up in the morning with all of their clucking? Or is your bedroom window far enough away that you don’t hear it at all? 

I did! I figured with all the space I have out here on the farm, I might as well start adopting some animals to become a real farmer. I don’t have names for them just yet. I’m brainstorming and trying to think of three names that mesh together for them. How about we make a deal? I’ll give you fresh eggs if you promise to bake me something with them every so often? Because your baking is something that I will never turn down ever in my life. I don’t have a rooster, so they’re not too noisy. Plus my bedroom is on the opposite side of the house from their little coop outside. So I don’t hear them at all unless I’m outside with them. You’ll have to come over and visit them sometime. Maybe you can help me choose names for them too.

Congrats on being a formal chicken owner! Did you give this new trio names yet? They seem like a good start, not that I know from chicken owning experience, but you definitely can’t go wrong with having fresh eggs at your disposal. I’m always happy to take some of those off your hands if you’re needing to get rid of them. If this is just a start, what other animals are on your becoming a real farmer list?

Yes, please take some eggs. They keep laying more than I know what to do with. I have been using them for cooking and baking, but I’m only one person and I can’t consume all of these eggs on my own. Chickens?  I mean, I know a lot of people have taken on raising those around here. It’s a big step if you didn’t have them before.  I know that it’s a lot of work for some people to get that done. Did you also get a rooster? I mean, I know you’ll get eggs regardless but I’ve heard about people leaving them for a few days when they had a rooster and coming back to baby chicks.  We’ll definitely have to keep it in mind should we need eggs.

So far my zoo is only three chickens and my one cat, which is enough for now. Eventually I’d love to get a pig or a goat, but not for a while. I want to let the chickens settle in and get used to their daily routine first. Plus I still haven’t even named them yet, since I’ve been struggling to come up with creative names. Of course you can! I have more than enough and I’d be happy to send some over to you whenever you need some. I’m always down to watch the game with you, mate.

This is such a dream life you’re leading and I’m jealous. If I didn’t already have dogs, I’d adopt a cow or a goat or something and live life as Farmer Margot. Did you name the chickens? If not, can I suggest you name them after the chickens from Chicken Run? Such a great film. I’ll totally take some eggs and when I get Daisy the cow, I’ll churn you some fresh butter in return.

You can still adopt a cow or goat, even if you already have dogs. I mean, if you have the space for the farm animals, that is. I haven’t named the chickens yet, but I want to. I just haven’t come up with the perfect names for them yet. I’ve actually never seen Chicken Run. I’ve heard about it, so I know exactly what you’re talking about. But I have no idea what any of the characters names are or anything. Fresh butter to go along with my fresh eggs? Life doesn’t get better than that.
