Fitbite Brampton
What is working?
Over the past 12 weeks, several parts of my FitBite Brampton project have started to come together well. I have successfully identified my target customersāmainly students, young professionals, and busy families looking for healthier snack or meal options. My menu ideas are becoming clearer, and Iāve been able to experiment with a few healthy recipes that fit the brand. I also created a simple marketing plan and researched local food-handling requirements. The feedback Iāve received from people I've spoken to has been encouraging, which motivates me to keep improving.
ā What is not working?
Some areas remain challenging. Setting the right pricing is tough because healthy ingredients are more expensive, and I need to make sure the prices stay affordable while still giving me a reasonable profit. Another difficulty is figuring out how much initial investment is neededāequipment, packaging, and ingredients all add up. Building a steady customer base also takes time, so I still feel uncertain about sales consistency. Organizing delivery or pickup options also needs more planning.
How is the project coming along?
Overall, the project is moving in a positive direction. Each week, I get more clarity about what it takes to run a small food-based business. Even though some tasks feel slow, I can see steady progress in planning, researching, and shaping the overall identity of FitBite Brampton. I feel more confident with the concept now, and I understand the steps needed to launch successfully.
What am I learning about running a business?
This project is teaching me that running a business requires strong planning, patience, and the ability to adjust quickly. I'm learning how important budgeting is, especially in food-related businesses where small costs can add up. I also realize how valuable communication and branding areācustomers need to trust the product and the person behind it. Understanding regulations, safety, and quality standards is also a big part of building a successful food business.
What am I learning about myself?
I learned that I enjoy creating healthy food ideas and planning ways to market them. I also realized that I can handle pressure and think through problems even when things get challenging. This project has shown me that I am committed, creative, and capable of taking responsibility. Each week helps me grow both personally and professionally, giving me more confidence in my ability to run a business in the future.
