You’ve really done it this time.

All you can wonder, with your back pressed up against the wall and the green eyed consequences of your actions staring you down, is if it makes it better or worse that quite a bit of it had been accidental. Some of it hadn’t even been your fault, and you intend to inform her of that as soon as she gives you a second to breathe again.

The teasing had been completely on purpose. Obviously. You’d do just about anything to get her flustered, to get to banter back and forth with her and see whether she’d run out of steam or use her annoyance as a motivating force. Maybe you’d pushed your luck a bit too far, caught up in the love of the game as she got snippier with you. Many things you said were knee-jerk reactions at this point, playing off of inside jokes that would usually earn you a scoff and a roll of her eyes when she wasn’t already irritated. But! Not everything had been intentional. Really, how were you supposed to control your back to back to back critical rolls during J&J tonight? It wasn’t like you’d meant to totally derail the session! Several tests of your dice proved that they weren't loaded.

Whatever the final straw ended up being, you can't quite recall. Anything that isn't Ishmael's hand fisting in your collar, her lips on yours, doesn't seem so important anymore. Even any attempt at trying to explain your motivations, your hands raised in surrender, falls apart.

“In my—“

She chases after you before your can get much further away, her other hand on the back of your neck, practically scruffing you to keep you from pulling back. You cling to her shoulders for dear life, still deadset on making your point even against her lips even when it dissipates into the cold air.

”Defense—“

“Do you ever shut up?” Ishmael huffs, still hanging onto that glare even with her cheeks flushed, eyes half-lidded.

‘You’re cute when you’re mad.’ Is what you want to say. That’s your justification for your actions, one that would only add more fuel to the fire. She clearly revels in the few seconds of silence she gets when you’re trying to figure out if you want to get burned. There’s no point in taking it personally; you started it, after all. She leans back a bit, and for a moment, it’s clear that she’s proud of herself. Proud that she actually managed to get you to just be quiet. For once. No witty comebacks, no taking it on the chin no matter how snide of a comment you got. Once or twice, with a scowl and a heavy sigh, she’s accused you of practicing your retorts beforehand, but she still always gives you a reaction.

A grin creeps onto your lips. Ishmael doesn’t seem like she can even find it in herself to be surprised by you anymore, poised to shut you up again because she knows you too well. Just as you know the perfect answer to that question every time.

There’s no need to take ahold of her tie— she’s already moving back in. But your fingers wrap around it anyway, tugging. Your other hand mirrors hers, slipping through waves of orange hair and settling on the back of her sweat damp neck.

“Only when you make me.”

I wouldn't say that a lot would happen whenever she's with you or around you, but she would fidget more often. She bounces her leg, she plays with fingers, maybe even adjust her coat too. She doesn't really notice it at all, but you do. You don't say anything about it since you wanted to know how long until she noticed it herself.

She often lets you braid her hair or play with her hair. She thinks that it's nice to let you play with her hair considering how gentle you are with it. She just gets a little surprised whenever you shove your face onto her hair. She does get a bit uncomfortable with that though.

"Your hair is fluffy, Ishy." ".. Get your face out of my hair."

I like to think that she would probably go outside to fish if ever they were near a body of water. She would bring a rod and a bucket and cast her rod line across the body of water after setting up her spot. However, if you asked if you could come with her, she usually agrees. It's nice to have some company sometimes. Besides, I don't think the rest of the Sinners would be that interested in fishing.

Whenever you two sit together, she unconsciously scoots closer to you. But you could barely tell because it seemed like she didn't even move an inch. You can see how she's adjusting her uniform or tucking a hair strand behind her ear while still wearing that stoic look on her face. You thought to yourself that it was pretty cute but you didn't say anything because you don't want to be met with a shout of denial.

She does not actually say it but she does hint that she likes your company. You're not too loud to the point it rings her ears. You're not too quiet either to the point it makes things awkward. You two often have conversation and it mostly focuses on what you both think about the other Sinners or just about your life in general.

I don't think she'd let you touch her headband, for.. reasons. [ Canto 5 flashbacks ] It makes her uncomfortable. And she doesn't really like it when you're too touchy or clingy. It annoys her and makes her uncomfortable.

She would hug you if you are actually down and she wants to comfort you. But for any other normal day? She normally passes on that. Again, she isn't too big on physical touch. Not quite her thing. I think she would personally like doing acts of service and spending quality time with you.

She isn't too harsh but not too soft. It's kind of like an in-between. She still criticizes you for whatever you may do wrong, but it isn't too harsh. Just right where you can learn from that mistake.

You two do banter, it's not intense but it does have some tension in-between those banters. As in light flirting or jokes only you two share together. If you both do flirt, Ishmael wouldn't expect you to flirt back. So if you do, expect a shove from her.

She probably goes to your room often at the back of the bus if she's bored. She knocks on the door and you two talk until you both feel sleepy. Just talking to you makes her feel vulnerable enough to make her feel sleepy. She kind of slurs her words when she's sleepy so sometimes you have to decipher whatever she says that was on the tip of her tongue.

Short Scenario! :

You were sat next to the bus window. You put your elbow onto the edge of the window and put your chin at the palm of your hands as you watch the scenery outside. You hear footsteps that is walking towards you and once you turn to the direction of the sound, you see Ishmael approaching you.

"Hey, is it alright if I sit here?"

"Oh, definitely." You happily agreed as you fixed your posture a bit and gave Ishmael a bit more space to sit on.

"So what are we gonna talk about this time?" You questioned her as you nudged her shoulder playfully with a smirk tugged at the corner of your lips.

"Ah, I don't intend on talking about anything. Besides, it's been a boring day. There's nothing much to talk about." She sighed as she stretched her arms and her back.

"Fair, fair." You gestured with your hand. "So, do you just want to relax a bit? We don't have to talk if that's what you want."

".. Yeah, I'd like that."

You nodded and you just continued watching the scenery outside. The silence wasn't awkward at all, it was more comfortable than the first time you two met.
