goodmorning i am thinking about leon and sonia. i love a story of grieving a childhood friendship that never really ended but more like whirlwinded far away. and the person who once knew everything about you is now inaccessible and maybe even a stranger but they'll forever remember your home phone number. and know what makes you laugh. and can maybe make you laugh again when they see you every now and then but for some reason smiling kinda hurts. their mt. silver arc went on for like a DECADE. they did not get the fumbling teenagedom of working it back out like red and blue. they were whole ass adults figuring out how to fit in each others lives again and like basically having to meet each other all over again. i always think of leon introducing sonia to the mc and how shitty that was. she should have thrown a book at his head for that. hi

rlly fascinating phenomenon to me is when a character is extremely popular, and that popularity seems understandable enough because they've got something interesting going on, and then you look at the fandom and realize 99% of their fans don't actually care about engaging with any of the things that make them interesting and instead seem to be fans of an imaginary milquetoast version that exists solely for ship and/or angst content and is so far removed from the canon character they might as well be an unrelated OC at this point
