There was no way Bel was going to be able to keep her emotions in check. This was the hardest goodbye and Franco was the reason she almost decided they should stay. But that wouldn’t have been fair to any of them. Bel knew that this was one of those situations where she needed to be a little selfish. It didn’t mean she loved him any less. She dropped his hands and went in for the full hug. “I’m gonna miss you too, Franc n’ Bean. So so much. I love you and I will only be a phone call away.”

Bel was watching intently as he took the first spoonful and her chest burst with pride at his compliment. “Thank you, Bwana. I’m super glad you like it!” She let him enjoy the food for a bit, only taking a few bites of her own bowl before setting it down in her lap. “The reason I’m most glad about us getting to hang out tonight is because um... me and Mistress Ainsley are gonna leave. I love the friends I’ve made here, I love you but like I’m so ready to get back out into the world, you know? I just wanted to tell you face to face cause I care about you so much.” Her hands gripped the bowl but she never once looked away from him.

Bel frowned, tears forming at the rims of her eyes. She felt horrible for going back on her word but she weighed the options and knew this was the right move for them. She took a shaky breath and nodded, moving in closer to Franco and taking his hands in hers. “I’m sorry, Franc n’ Bean. I wish I could take you with us.”

Bel frowned when she was reminded that Archer was wearing the cast but decided not to say anything about it, knowing this wasn’t exactly the time for her to pry like she normally did. Instead, she returned the hug and offered another smile as she ushered him inside and too the couch, disappearing only for a second to retrieve their bowls for dinner. “I really hope it lives up to your expectations.” She handed him his bowl and curled up on the couch next to him. “I’m so glad you were available to meet today. I just wanted at least one night of just like hanging out, you know?”
