I Read The News Today, Oh Boy

Hello! Welcome to my blog! My name is Harriet and I am a huge music fan. My favourite bands are the Beatles, Queen, ABBA, Elton John, Alice Cooper, Green Day, David Bowie, Radiohead, RHCP and The Smiths (but there is a likely chance I will listen to anything you recommend me)

I enjoy other things too though, like art and watching movies and TV. Other fandoms I’m in include Yellowjackets, Ghosts UK, The Hunger Games, Tim Burton, Star Wars, Doctor Who, the IT crowd and Schitts Creek (If your curious about all the fandoms I’m in, just check my Pinterest @H_1314_)

I think I’ll mostly be focusing on making posts about the Beatles, but if I’m feeling up to it (or I have something to yap about), I’ll probably post about smth else

1. For No One- do I even need to explain? My absolute favourite, the lyrics and instruments are perfect, best revolver track imo

2. A Day In The Life- another amazing track, in my opinion it’s the best in their discography. Once again the lyrics and instruments are amazing, and I love how John and Paul took two unfinished songs and brought them together (with two of the best orchestral crescendos I’ve ever heard)

3. She’s leaving home- another fantastic Sgt. Pepper track, and I love the isolated strings. Personally I think the best part of this song is the lyrics, and the way it tells a story. I can see this song in my head man the imagery is amazing

4. Goodbye- I’ve already talked about this song but I think it’s such an underrated track. I know it was never officially released as a Beatles song, but the Demo is amazing. I personally think it’s better then the Mary Hopkin version, the isolated guitar and Paul’s soft vocals are so nice

5. I couldn’t pick one track so it’s a tie between three: Octopus’s Garden, I Me Mine and Golden Slumbers. Octopus’s Garden is such a happy track, and I love Ringo’s vocal. I Me Mine is my favourite George track, and I love the guitar on this song. Goldens Slumbers is such a beautiful song, I love the piano and vocals, and it holds a special place in my heart.
