“Clearly you have little experience with the younger generation.” He remarked trying to sound old and wise. “Those kids out there, they are the most understanding group here. If you should worry about anyone hating you its the older people on the base. They are cold and against change. They want to believe that people cannot change, and if you don’t adhere to the old way you are not a worthy person.” Aramis only knew this because a handful of the elders had little respect for him on account of his not following the path of the Jedi.

“If you open yourself up to them, they’ll see you mean them no harm. Share a few facts about Starkiller and they’ll think that you’re a super awesome double agent who’s chosen to share top secret information with them.” He shrugged, “The kids are smart, they know I wouldn’t hang out with genuine First Order scumbags.”

First Order scumbags. The insult stuck in his mind even though he knew Aramis didn’t mean him. He meant the people Harper had left behind when he deserted. The people he couldn’t help but form bonds with over the years as they slogged through wartime together. The people who’d been closest to being his friends. Scum.

“Glad to hear it’s the oldtimers here I should be worried about,” Harper joked, hoping Aramis hadn’t picked up on his insecurities. “I’m sure what I play for them in the bar has wiped the Order from their minds. They love that stuff here, you know.” Once he’d been settled in the Resistance, he’d taken up playing again, this time playing around the base when he wasn’t out spying in bars as a musician. “The old way? Seriously? Would they like it better if I was still with the Order?”

“First Order scumbags,” remember? That’s what they all think of you, deep down. No matter if they tap their foot along to your songs, give you a tip –– they all despise you and you know it.

Narrowing her eyes, Ryssa looks carefully at the stormtrooper, trying to gauge how much of what he says is truth or lies. She taps into the Force, hoping it would give him an answer but it seemed that the trooper is indeed truthful, at least for now.

Letting the knife move away, only for a short distance, but still trained on the trooper in case he tries to attack, Ryssa growled, “Keep talking then. Where?”

“The Millenium Falcon was spotted on Ta–...  in the Mid Rim,” he responds, changing his answer mid sentence. Mirrors would tell her the exact location if he didn’t think being vague would keep her knife off him for a bit longer. He isn’t lying – he just plans to fork over bit by bit.

This Stormtrooper was becoming far too bold. He was stepping out of line by stating such things. And Ren wasn’t about to let that happen. “You will watch what you say,” Ren threatened, holding a finger up towards the white-armored soldier. “Or I will see to it that you no longer have a spot in the First Order’s armies but in their prison cells.”

He knew that this was when he was supposed to submit, abandon the cause and obey. This is what the rest of his squadron would do, he thought. But none of his comrades would even be before Ren like this in the first place, he thought bitterly. But the mention of the First Order’s prison ignited something within him, something he didn’t know existed until then.
