“I’m not cleared to compete tonight. Believe me, guys, it breaks my heart far more than any of you know but it gives me this opportunity to sort of come out here and just tell you what this all means to me. You know, a couple of years ago, before I ever signed with WWE, there was this horrible word. And you don’t hear it as much anymore but that word is ‘developmental.’ To outsiders looking in, developmental was a place where you sort of twiddled your thumbs and just waited and waited and hoped that something good would come along and you’d be whisked away to Raw or SmackDown and saved from obscurity. Well, things have changed, wouldn’t you say?

“You hear these words throw around a lot, like ‘revolution.’ Well, I can’t talk for everbody else but I can tell you about my revolution. My revolution started a little under two years ago in a match, it was a 2-out-of-3 falls match with a guy you might have heard of named Cesaro. It was in that moment that I realized that this could be whatever we wanted it to be. We could have kept the whole cycle the same, and this could have been the holding pattern, and this could have been the place to twiddle your thumbs and wait. Or, or you can kick the door down and you can bust your ass every night and play loud and hard every night with your heart and your soul and make this the place to be. I’ve been watching this show and I’ve been listening to you guys all night and without a doubt in my mind this is the place to be.
