Something small and silly for now.
No idea if I'll continue this.
"I can't believe you've convinced me to do this..." Harlequin muttered as he raised up his cloth face mask to try to cover his face more.
"You'll enjoy it. Trust me." Pierrot smiled, his own face mask covered that smile but his eyes alone showed his joy towards the other clown.
They both started to walk into the amusement park together. And instantly Harlequin hated being surrounded by screaming children running around.
"This is hell..." He muttered as he stepped closer to Pierrot.
Pierrot was about to grab his hand to hold, but Harlequin quickly pulled away, shoving his hands into his hoodie pockets.
Pierrot noticed that and frowned a little, but tried to not let it bother him.
"...What would you like to do first?"
"Anything that involves getting away from these screaming little gremlins."
Pierrot thought for a moment as he looked around, then saw a small shop that looked empty.
"Over here." Pierrot grabbed Harlequin by the arm, dragging him over to the shop.
When they entered it, instantly Harlequin breathed out in relief when he was farther away from the children's loud noises.
"Looks like the store clerk isn't in here...or anyone else in fact." Pierrot stated as he looked around.
"Let's rob it!" Harlequin said with a grin. Pierrot glared at him, but Harlequin only chuckled at him. "Kidding. Calm down."
Harlequin started to walk forward and browse the items in the shop. They were just your typical souvenirs you'd find in any amusement park, but the prices were ridiculous for how basic and cheap they looked.
"Why don't we have stuff like this for the circus? I'm sure some people will be stupid enough to buy them."
"Jester thought about it, but the cost to make and ship them seemed too much. There's also no guarantee anyone will buy them...We can't risk dealing with too much unsold merchandise."
"Right...But imagine selling little clown mascot bears like these." Harlequin picks up the little bear plush with a green bow from the shelve. Then puts it in front of his face, starting to puppet it with a silly cute voice. "WELCOME TO THE FREAK CIRCUS OF HORRORS. YOU'LL HAVE A SCREAM OF A TIME HERE!"
Pierrot started to laugh a little from that show. Then picked up another bear plush himself, one with a golden bow, imitating Harlequin's actions. "PAY NO MIND TO THE BLOOD AND GORE TO YOUR LEFT. ENJOY THE SHOW!"
The two lowered the bears down, laughing together now.
But then their laughing ceased when they heard someone approach them.
"Ahem. It's cute what you two are doing but please don't play with our products. You can always buy them if you like them that much and take them home to continue your little show there."
Harlequin looked annoyed at the store clerk for ruining their fun, while Pierrot looked scared and nervous.
"Oh look. You've arrived back. Such a pleasure to see you."
Pierrot was about to speak to apologize, that is until Harlequin spoke first to stop him.
"Also we're buying them. Now if you'd excuse us, we'll be continuing our little look around your shop in hopes to find more lovely knickknacks to buy."
Pierrot looked shocked as he stared at Harlequin with wide eyes.
The store clerk looked bothered but silently walked back to the front counter and waited there.
Harlequin noticed Pierrot staring at him, raising a brow. "What? We are getting souvenirs right? Oh...We should get something for the others too. Or we'll have Ticket Taker nagging us again for being selfish."
Harlequin started to look around for stuff for the other troupe members. While Pierrot held onto the bear plush a little more in his hands.
Once they found some stuff to gift to the others too. They walked to the front counter and paid for the items. All while Harlequin glared at the clerk, still annoyed by their earlier encounter.
Pierrot was about to grab the bags, that is until Harlequin grabbed them first. Then he pulled out the bears, holding onto the one Pierrot grabbed before, while giving the other one he had chosen to Pierrot.
"Trade. I like yours better."
Pierrot held onto the bear he was given, then nodded with a blush, as he grinned brightly at him.
"...Let's go. I'm hungry now." Harlequin started to blush too but tried to hide it as he raised his mask up again.
They both left the shop, bags in hand. Though Pierrot was tempted to try to hold Harlequin's hand again, but he resisted this time.
