I actually really hope there is a mode like the Ultimate talent development plan in 2x2 , post game, something where we can see general interactions with all the characters
Mainly for oumota purposes, who would of guessed lol. But even if it did exist and there was no interactions i would still be very invested in the different combos they come up with. But with oumota, I really liked seeing how they interact in different settings , such as the summer camp and even in a general school setting, their rivalry is still present but becomes something almost mutually natural for them, less volatile. More like the banter he describes in his love hotel actually. Like one of my favourite interactions is their one in utdp when kaito and him are alone, I think there was a LOT of layers to that if you look. Like kokichi being generally taken aback that kaito was able to see through him, but also the general premise of "things are changing , what now?"
Kokichis deflection of his family also shows another similarity between them, their atypical family situations, kaitos grandparents, and whatever is going in with kokichi, and the fact the two of them are alone here outside the dorms when people are leaving to be with their families is sort of special .
Kaito line at the end of it shows he has accepted, in some degree, that kokichi will remain a presence in his future life post graduation event though he has no reason to. It does fit after all, as many things point towards him requiring a rivalry.
Even though he acts to be annoyed by kokichi by reacting when kokichi implies kaito was "waiting for him" he does subtly ask about kokichis personal life . He throws in a "do you even a visit" After all this time, he DOES want to know a bit more about him.
. If you think about, this does coincide with kokichis lament that kaito "won't found out the truth about him". But kaito is getting there, in some aspects...
Because after he says this, kokichi sprite changes to a smile , like he did figure out something to a degree.
Of course I know all of these are written by different writers and that in some cases they can be majorly out of character for fanservice but I do think this isnt particularly out of character for these two. After all tje other route to this was having a talk in the same setting with his sidekicks who are also very important to him .
