2020 Movie Log - Parasite -Ā 2/8/20
We watched this at home on Saturday night; we had planned on seeing it in the theater, but forgot it was at Times Square and not LSQ so by the time we would have arrived, we would have been late, and I just didnāt want to be late. It actually ended up working out well, because it gave me more time to run errands, then come home, make dinner, and watch the movie.Ā
It was entertaining the whole time. I feel like Iām coming to realize thatās all I really care about in a film. Or - not all I care about. But all it takes for me to be interested, at least. To be invested. If nothing else, that will leave me with a positive feeling.
The acting in this was interesting, especially Mrs. Park (Cho Yeo-Jeongās character). Definitely an ensemble cast where there maybe wasnāt one standout, but as a whole - this movie was absolutely great. And Iām so glad I watched it before the Oscars. It upped my enjoyment of the ceremony itself and helped me understand the conversation around the awards.Ā
There is only one way this war ends. Last man standing.

2020 Movie Log - 1917 - 2/7/20
T and I watched this on Friday night; had Chick-fil-A at his office beforehand. Our classic Friday night.
This movie was good - I honestly donāt know if I have that much more to say. The moments where the boys were helping each other moved me; first, in the German bunker that starts collapsing, and then when George Mackayās friend is stabbed by the pilot. And those night shots of him running through the French town were truly gorgeous.Ā
Watched because I wanted to be informed before the Oscars. Glad I saw it, even if itās not like, going to be something I think about a lot.
Told myself Iād watch one Fleabag while I ate my ramen last night, sitting on the couch after staying home from work for the second day in a row. But then I was starting my third episode, and I didnāt finish it - I picked up my book - but I got this far at least, and it was a shot that struck me for the first time.Ā āHere to help.ā
Not to be like,Ā āthe enneagram,ā but as a 2, part of me feels this way sometimes - everyone else gets to go off and have fun and I am just here to help. And left with this look on my face, probably.Ā

2020 Movie Log - Uncut Gems - saw 1/17/20
Julia Fox was the most interesting part of this film to me. I honestly didnāt love the movie - and unfairly to the film, I think part of that was because it had been super hyped up. T had already seen it and loved it. It has received lots of critical acclaim. I do think I can appreciate it being well-made and at the same time feel like itās not for me. I thought Sandler was *acting.* And no character was likable. In a way, I admire it but donāt think i like it. If I can hold both those things at the same time.

T and I saw this last night (Friday 12/6) and we both loved it. It was so fun watching it together - we both were laughing, and just purely entertained. Saw at Lincoln Square AMC after getting dinner at B Squared - kind of our perfect, classic night.Ā
Parts I want to remember:
-Just the whole thrill of the sequence where you discover how he died. Christopher Plummer is fabulous, as always, and so charming - and Ana de Armas carries it. Thereās so much suspense, and then you realize - you now know how he died. So thereās the anticipation of, where does the movie go from here?

-Daniel Craig. Lakeith Stanfield.
Watching Lady BirdĀ on the plane to Portland for Thanksgiving. And Iām just ready to be there. So trying to kill time with a movie, but a low-mental-effort one, and this seemed perfect. And I forgot thereās a whole Thanksgiving sequence!Ā
