āNope, not yet.ā Her hand slips from his wrist at his request, abated now that sheās certain she wouldnāt lose her unwilling tourist guide in the process. Instead she slips it into her bag to tug out a flash light, growing wary of the narrow corridors and stalagmites that seemed to grow more prominent the deeper they traversed into the cavern.
Sheād had one too many experiences with tight spaces in caves. It never ended pretty.
āItās only my third day in Alola. I came in from Slateport, but Iāve managed to read up on the beasts in this region already. The legendary beasts, the totem Pokemon, the guardians and the warp dimensions or whatever it is you call them here. Couldnāt gather nearly enough information from that book I nicked from the library but ā I figure a hands on approach is always the best way to go.ā Her eyes are alit with excitement and glee as she speaks, the idea of experiencing such phenomena more than enough to perk up her spirits.
Treasure and the possibility of danger was always such a thrill for her, honestly. But of course, that was her own preference in regards to these kind of things. Mahina, however ā
Mahogany hues turn to face her companion, hoping she hadnāt inconvenienced him too much. āSorry you were the unlucky companion on this one, Mahina. In any case, what kind of job were you on? Iāll try not to keep you for more than a few hours, but Iāll be glad to pay for whatever wages you lose accompanying me out here. That and interest, so itāll be like a real tour guide thing ā if that helps.ā
āWell Iāll let you know now theyāre not the most friendly Pokemon, so I hope you at least have a strong team.ā
Still for someone to have come all this way after only reading a small portion of the information that was available was commendable in some strange way. Ā She was pretty free spirited, that much was clear. Ā In fact Mahina was slightly jealous of how easily she was able to come and just start exploring. Ā It reminded him of his younger selfās curiosity.
āOh donāt worry about paying, I have time, enough to join you for a while.ā Ā As for what his job was, perhaps it would be better not to let her know for now. Ā People tended to treat the boy differently when they knew he was Champion.
āUh, Iām just a trainer... Ā Doing some work for a professor I guess,ā he answered rather unconvincingly, hoping she would buy it.
