Ti-chan

I used procreate so I had to do everything manually, but this usually works for most programs with a good transform tool. 

1. Set the back ground colour to whatever you want, or just fill the bottom layer with that color (I used beige)

2. Fill a new layer with the border colour you want.

3. Select the layer contents, then using the transform tool, pinch and drag and make a box.

4. Duplicate the layer to the amount of panels you want, and space them out.

5. Duplicate the layer with the boxes again, and this time fit it inside the previous boxes so only the thin border shows. (Do this for all panels)

6. Select the contents of the layer with second set of boxes, and  fill it with the background color you want inside the panels. (The blue in my comic) 

7. Now all your drawings have to be above these layers, but make sure you select the contents of the layer you made in step 5, so the comic remains within the borders. Or alternatively, you can draw freely and select and erase any lines outside the layer in step 5.

I’m self taught (and actually drawing is my very recent hobby) I don’t have any cool-professional-art-reference-stuff to offer (sorry, heh). 

To be very honest, i don’t even think those things are that important.
