shining bright

            there was a bouquet of flowers in his hands, all a mismatch of colors that he picked out himself and arranged on his own. reaching up to knock on hallie’s door, he speaks as soon as he sees her. “flowers are the most cliche thing and this holiday is incredibly cliche. it’s all awful. however, i love you in the most cliche way so i thought it was fitting that i bought you flowers. you’re prettier than all of these, though.” @happyhallie

hallie beamed when she saw gavin, she hadn’t had very high expectations for him on valentines day. it just seemed like something he wouldn’t get very into. but when he stood there in front of her with a rainbow of flowers she felt so happy she thought she might explode. she hugged him before even saying anything, wrapping her arms tightly around him. “thank you gavin, this was really sweet of you.”

“Brrr,it’s kinda chilly for Valentine’s Day.”Dot said,rubbing her bare arms.”I am super excited for the dance though.”

“i’m excited too! do you have a date?”

“Speaking as someone who lived in the land of eternal summer, the heat and the bugs kind of get to you.”

“the land of eternal summer? where’s that?”

“Well I do like Winter,I get what you mean. I wanna be able to have flowers and not bundle up when I go out. We only have about a month left.”

hallie nodded, “winter is fine, i just love summer so much. i can’t wait until the snow melts and you can see the grass again.”

“And snowball fights!” Cora added. “Very true. Drinking cocoa and eating cookies while getting warm again.” She smiled. “I think we should go do all of this right now!”

hallie grinned, “yes please!” hallie felt so unbelievably happy, she had gavin and cora back, and that was all she really needed.

“I like it better when it’s warm too, but there are still fun things we can do. Like play in the snow!”

“yeah, that’s true. and building snowmen and making snow angels are fun too!” she grinned, “the best part, though is when you’re done outside and you go inside and drink hot cocoa.”

frowning, in the back of gavin’s mind he knew what hallie was trying to do. however he also knew that she wouldn’t leave if he kept trying to make her leave. rolling over o glance at the blonde, he took a deep breath. “what level?” he asked in a soft voice.

hallie looked down at him, “it’s a boss level, i think. i can’t get past it.” she pulled one of his hands up to her lips, kissing it and closing her eyes before she opened them and spoke again. “i’m sorry, gavin. if you really want to be alone i can go-”

“Where is every one?” Dylan wondered, plopping down beside your character and glancing around them. “I got back this morning and I still haven’t found all of my friends. I came back to the right school, right?”

hallie shrugged, “friends? what friends?” she teased him, moving so she could face him more from where she sat. “kidding! but i’m not sure where they are. my best guess is their all in bed hiding from the cold.”

pulling his knees to his chest, gavin was quiet for several minutes. “i’m tired, hallie. don’t you have something to do?”

hallie wasn’t sure what to do, he kept saying he wanted her to leave, but she didn’t want him to sit alone in his room and feel sad. “i needed help with something-” she tried to think of something to distract him, “i was playing that new game you got me for christmas and i couldn’t get past one of the levels and i knew you would be able to.”

shifting away from where she sat, gavin turned his head away from hallie. “i just don’t want to be me today, can you leave?”

she frowned at him as he shrunk away from her, “gavin- what’s going on? what do you mean?”

“can you just get out of my room? i don’t want to see anyone.”

hallie shook her head, “of course i can’t- that’s a dumb question gav.” she sat on the bed with him, “what’s wrong?”

logan pretended to be offended, “you mean, just because i’m not famous now you’re not my biggest fan? i really thought you cared more than that.” he couldn’t keep his act up as he let out a chuckle. “thank you, hallie. you’ve always believed in me. well, i’ll definitely need a manager, so the job’s yours.” he smiled, glad to hear that someone supported his dreams, even if he thought they were childlish.

hallie rolled her eyes playfully, “well obviously i’m already your biggest fan, i just meant that no screaming teenage girls will be able to surpass my title of ‘logan bjorgman’s number one fan’.” she giggled, “of course i believe in you! you’re pretty much perfect! oh good, you better pay off, logan. i have thousands of other aspiring musicians just begging me to be their manager.”

   nathan’s eyes widened a bit as the girl talked about dates going wrong. “b-bad dates actually happen? oh this is n-no good. what do you think it’s considered a bad date?”

“you’d have to really mess up for it to be a bad date. like spilling your drink all over them or pushing them down a flight of stairs. i wouldn’t worry about it being a bad date. you’re cute and nice, your date won’t go wrong, i promise. who’s the lucky guy or gal that gets to go on a date with you?”

“what age is it acceptable to sleep through the new year rather than stay up and watch some stupid ball drop with a bunch of half drunk teenagers?”

hallie gasped over-dramatically. “it’s never acceptable! we don’t have to hang out with drunk teenagers. it can be just us if that sounds like more fun to you. you have to stay awake to greet 2016 because i just know it’s going to be our year, gav.”

logan chuckled, shaking his head, but his fingers continued to push against the strings. “i’m never going to be famous for anything other than being a prince. it’s unrealistic.” he’d love to play his music for everyone, to have a large fanbase and travel the world- but it all just seemed so far off he’d managed to constantly push his dreams to the back of his mind.

hallie tilted her head to the side slightly, “don’t believe that for a second, logan. you have real talent and as soon as your famous you know i’ll be your biggest fans. i’ll follow you to all your concerts and watch you play every night. i’ll obviously be your manager too, because i’m sure by then i’ll be qualified to do that.”
